Exeter City v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 12.08.23

Need to draw their sting, it was always going to be one of the tougher fixtures. As said, the longer we can frustrate them, the more energy they will use up.

Exeter comms getting a bit ahead of themselves. Saying they are surprised by us. Thought we would be better than this. 16 mins on the clock ffs 🤣

Poor defending from Casey nearly cost us.

Still our final ball is poor. Lyons was in a good position but instead of teeing up Lavery tried a shot.

Mohammed Ali boxing tactics - laid on the rope and took the hits, opponent (George Foreman I think) eventually tired himself out, Ali then came out and finished it.
Ha. Just seen this after posting the same😀
Rope a dope. It makes sense in a way, they are way better in possession than a yone we've played so far and they press hard.

Exeter look the better team. Really disjointed performance. Only positive is we have limited their attacking play. Not got the forwards into the game, passing has been sloppy and on the rare occasion we get into the box, we make the wrong choice.

Poor game build up too slow and laboured usually we are a team of 2 halves hope this is our bad half

CJ so frustrating. He just hits and hopes from the right. Beats his man all the time, if he could cross from that side he'd be deadly.
