Why are we giving away supporters so many tickets and not better promoting tickets sales for the North section of the East Stand.
EG; £20 tickets due to the reduced facilities. £1 a kid with each ticket sold etc etc.
How hard are the club trying to fill the stadium with home supporters?

But what about rest of home stands that are empty? Particularly south and south east corner.
Agree about £1 kid but we need to sell out rest
I agree. There should be incentives for all parts of the ground. If I was a Blackburn player coming out to see one side of the ground full of Rivers supporters, it would give me a lift! The board need to trial more incentives to tempt home fans to attend.

Whole ticket pricing structure is wrong, £30 is a joke

Just watched stage highlights and didn’t realise how bad sections of the South and West were yesterday - illuminations, Sky TV, cost of living .. or has that lovely feel good factor gone? Certainly felt so last night.

Scheduled for internal briefing/discussion next week. I'll give a fuller response then. My off-the-cuff interim take (unofficial, so don't quote me): it's all about financial sustainability. There's a good return from 3000+ away fans. And consider that last night there were probably 2000+ unsold seats in the home stands. Of course the club would like a full stadium for each game, on the right terms.

@SLO
Just as I thought (your post above).
I find it difficult to believe though that you would raise such a ridiculous suggestion with the Club.

You could always buy a membership and get tickets for 20 quid as was the idea in the first place what dont people get the idea of raising prices was to take advantage of the high number of visiting fans.

It’s about trying things out to attract home fans. For example, the North East stand was completely empty against Bristol City. So why not test some new initiatives to get bums on seats in that area. Not every club is going to ask for tickets to fill that part of the ground. There must be other initiatives for other parts of the ground too.

I agree with needing to attract more and not a lot has been done to fill the stadium at a price point people find acceptable and affordable.

However don't forget we do have to operate in the rules on memberships and also any deal we did for the NE would presumably have to be mirrored for away fans, so bear that in mind.

There may be ways round it but some of the suggestions from people simply aren't possible.

The south was almost empty partly because some may have defected to the north for the atmosphere.
If there is a supply and demand from away supporters then why not? It's all revenue for the club.
Some of our fans can't be arsed going.

it's 25 quid with a membership not 20.

Can you also ask about why the internet is absolutely abysmal in the ground now? It has always been ok in the past but it seems as though there is some kind of blocker in place now...I cannot get info on EE Virgin or O2 and it is very frustrating.

This has been done to death on here your only allowed three deals per season then whatever your lowest price ticket has to be recipicated to the away fans.

£30 is too expensive but now they started selling memberships to get the price down to £25 if they where to bring the price down what would happen with those who've bought one?

Exactly, its hard to undo this season.

Unless they simply dropped the total price but kept the discount amount the same, can't see it though.

This to me is why a simple correct price beats out a membership, which adds in additional step and confusion, every time.

A simple lower price strategy that appeals to the town, is marketed and really promoted and engages people is key, especially in this financial climate.

Its only £30 if you jump through hoops. To turn up on the day without any form of membership and its nearly £40. That is absolutely scandalous.
That's for the premium seats in the West the rest of the ground is £30.

The membership would then expect their £15 back.😁

Well it would still be 15 and a fiver off whatever the price is. But obviously having paid more for some games they would have to be compensated with a free pie or something.

Restricting away support whilst the home stands are half empty seems a bit daft from a business stance if the demands there?
Agree all this membership scheme etc is too much pissing about for your casual supporters making last minute choices etc…
I think turning up and being able to pay £20-£25 on the day would help fill the empty stands…😎

We seem to have an issue generally with our ability to get new fans (not already on the database) into the stadium.

Every time we have a situation where tickets are in demand, then we revert to the system of not selling tickets to people who aren’t already on the database… take that to its logical conclusion and eventually our fanbase will have died off and nobody will be allowed to buy a ticket…

It seems to defy any kind of logic and we don’t seem to be able to come up with a simple and reasonably priced way for new and casual fans to get a ticket and go to a game…. Our systems / policies / prices seem to be placing a strangle hold around our ability to grow the fanbase.

I’m sure the powers that be must recognise the situation is not ideal and so hopefully we will see some changes to try and focus more attention on getting home supporters through the turnstiles.

I asked about that and the answer wasn't a solution.

The membership doesn't address this as a new fan still has to have attended. Otherwise away fans desperate to go would buy a membership.

The annoying thing is the big games are the ones that make a club grow as its the biggest occasions and many want to be involved.

We have to be able to accommodate them, a simple ID, address check, some other method also maybe. If a few non pool fans slip through occasionally then thats surely better then locking out all those who've never been to a game.

Might be a bit daft from a business stance yes but the increased support of the chicken fiddlers helped them immensely.
It'll be the same when Boro come, the Dingles, WBA, Blades, basically any club with large support.

I can only remember the Barnsley game from last season where a team with large support (going past the journalist boxes)were beaten.

Here's to a shite home season 😕

Apart from the genuine Blackpool supporters, of which there are a lot, walk on support for Blackpool has always been dependant on how the Team are doing at the time or to share in some glory.
Look how many we took to Wembley in 2010 and how many were on the Promenade to welcome the Team and compare that to the number that actually watched us in the Premier League. I may be wrong but I don't think we ever fully sold out a game.

It's still nearly £40 to sit on a plastic seat and watch a game of Championship football. I recall Chelsea only being about £44 in the Prem

Away fans get charged £30 in the PL but you can pay anything up to 250 at Chelsea and most are over 70 so don't really see the point your trying to make.
95% of our ground is 30 not 40.

I would hazard a guess the club will re look at this in the close season, difficult to undo this year and would lose a chunk of away income.
Maybe reduce membership to a fiver to get the discount. STH become automatic members and can buy tickets for friends and family at the discount.

Can't do that, the discount would be 1.66.

You can get tickets at Chelsea games in a few blocks for less than £50.

Premiership football starting at less than £50 a game, in the capital...Or Championship football for £30-£40 in one of the most deprived areas of the country 🤦‍♂️

I have a problem with my boiler.

Or I think I might.

What’s the SLO planning to do about it?

An answer before 21.30 would be good 👍
I know exactly what you mean, I’ve emailed the SLO 4 times today re my worsening dandruff problem! Not heard a thing back! What’s he playing at ffs!

It's £40 in one small block out of the whole ground which is no big deal.

I agree £30 is too much I've said it many many times on here.

Ridiculous OP.
Why on earth would they want to give kids tickets for £1 when they can sell them to away supporters for whatever they charge them.
We cannot even fill our own part of the stadium.
Ridiculous rejection of the op. 😜

An away game is not an investment for the future. An away fan will never become a season ticket holder. An away fan will never buy a shirt, an away fan will never grow up and bring their own kids and so on.

I've wondered this too. How on earth can you attract new fans to the club if you can only get a ticket if you've bought one previously? It's stupid.

Yep there's no solution or common sense mentioned when I've questioned it.

So do the club not understand the issue?
