It’s not clear whether the assault on the veteran poppy seller occurred. The police have dropped the investigation anyway. If it did then obviously then it goes without saying that the criminal should be prosecuted and punished.

As for the monuments being defaced I know of the Rochdale one (where two teenagers have been arrested) but no others. Someone (I think it was Tommy Two Jags but might be wrong) claimed there’d been one in Manchester but that turned out to be the Rochdale one. 20s said there’d been one in Leigh but as it was in September (and before the murders on 7 October) it obviously wasn’t related to the current troubles at all. The graffiti was something like “Keighton” so a vandal leaving his tag rather than a political statement. 20s actually apologised for his mistake!
