Form Table looks good

Just need to focus on ourselves, 6 wins from 8 should do it. It's unlikely, but doable with the fixtures - no room for much , if anything, less than that.

Last night did worry me as although it was an ugly win we created very little - and that was against a poor team who looked like they had both eyes on the summer break.

Unfortunately an inability to create chances seems to be the hallmark of a Critchley team ( bar the occasional Portsmouth away game ).

Yes their run in does look easier - only Oxford and a possibly already promoted/on the beach Pompey last game to play in the top part of league.

However, who knows with injuries, nerves, teams with nothing to play for "going for it"......lots to play for BUT we have to look after ourselves and whatever will be will be as the song goes.

Personally....still think we've left it too late and will just miss out. I'm a half-glass empty sort though!

Tend to agree, however a good run and a bit more of a feel good at the end of the season will hold us in good stead.
Many lessons to be learnt from this season but in the meantime 8 games left, all to play for and I reckon the Fat Lady has disappeared to Tenerife to do some karaoke!

Looking at that you can see Stevenage and Oxford are clearly going to struggle. Lincoln are flying, we are winning but not with too much style or confidence I’d say.

Agree it’s between us and Lincoln.

Things can change quickly
Remember Northampton being tipped after they performed well in November.
Then Leyton Orient looked a good bet a few weeks back.
Now Lincoln are looking good. Let’s hope they have peaked too soon.
They face Oxford and Leyton Orient within next 3 games

Just to put this in some context, if the form of each team was replicated over the next 6 games
Lincoln would be 6th on 74points +34gd
Blackpool 7th 73points +22gd
Stevenage 8th 69points +14gd
Oxford would be on 65points with only +2gd
Stevenage would have 2 games in hand over everyone, from this form it looks like Lincoln are the genuine threat for 6th! Oxford as I predicted have shot their bolt!

Yep I'd agree with that about Lincoln- Since their new manager came in in November, along with Moylan and a few other decent signings, they've looked impressive. Remind me a bit of us when we went up to the Championship the first time around with the run they're putting together...

Interesting thing there is looking at the last 6 compared to the last 10. Our 4 games before the last 10 only saw us pick up 2 points in 12! Imagine if that had been more around the 10 mark - with Derby still to play and a 7 point gap would we still have been dreaming of automatic?

Have to say Lincoln’s form is concerning but a Quick Look at there last 10 games and they have had an easy run of games and bar Barnsley who were chit against Carlisle too they haven’t beat anyone in the top 8.

Sign of a good team not playing well and winning lol

Oxford in 20th are the surprise to me. We’ve gained 8 points on them over that period. Did anyone really see that coming?

Manning fucked them big time. They were well on course for automatic before he left.
They followed it up with a poor managerial appointment and are paying the price.

Yep totally. Had to look who their manager is, Des Buckingham, thought who is that??
He’s one of these university qualified mangers who didn’t play the game at any professional level. Got a masters degree in ‘advanced performance coaching’ whatever the fook that is! And has gained his coaching experience in NZ/Oz & India!! Wow talk about a gamble and turns out to have been a crap appointment, think some of our manger appointments have been poorly thought out!!!

Lincoln are the bigger risk. They have a not too bad run in and have momentum.

Wigan is simply a not overstated must win for us as I fancy the other 2 to bag 3 points (I'm ignoring Oxford).

Suddenly, everyone appears to have awoken to the threat of Lincoln.

Have a look at the Biggest threat to us going up thread on Saturday 7th. 16th post down.

I mentioned Lincoln, the only one to mention them, and only Hazi agreed.

Ironic with what happened in "96 with Oxford and the way we blew it and they stole our spot, the reverse may be true this time.
Wonder what Owen Dale is now thinking of his move?
