Gambling firm 'Leo Vegas' sponsoring the new shirt...

Strange as I thought Utilita were announced last year as our principal partners for two year until 2024, maybe not every principal partner will be on the front of a kit?

Still disappointing though, gambling sponsors never sit right with me, especially considering that it's an anniversary kit.

The silver lining is that Leo Vegas probably has more money to offer than Utilita or Blackpool Council.

I'm sure people who have been affected by relatives who suffered/suffer from gambling addiction will find this sponsorship distasteful

It's as bad or maybe worse than the oystons and wonga
 
It's totally tone deaf in my opinion, really poor. Especially in a town riddled with gambling issues.

Yes they pay us more as a sponsor but I think we'll sell fewer shirts as a result which'll only eat into the extra money earned.

Also I think it's crap for kids having to wear a different looking shirt to those of the players. It isn't really fair on them.

Unless they're on the kids' shirts because of having a gambling sponsor?
Either that or do we have a different sponsor for home/away?

Or failing that, they've gone? relegation clause? who knows?

Will they really though? Will seeing this logo bring back flashbacks or something? Should all advertisement to do with alcohol stop aswell because a couple of alcoholics find it distasteful?
Yes these social issues exist but let’s get a grip.
 
Annoyed because the sponsor will take some of the shine off the kit unveil, but not the end of the world.

The 2010/2011 shirts were iconic despite having Wonga on them...
 
If it’s a good deal for the club, then great. Cannot stand all the do gooders, People don’t have to gamble and there is plenty of help for those if required. Some people would only accept a vegan food company or something similar that would be politically correct. For me I do enjoy a little gamble now and again although some times I admit I spend more than I wanted, but I do not go around blaming everyone else for whatI did. Sorry rant over 😡🤬😡🤬

Wow. Leo Vegas have jumped the gun and tweeted the shirt then quickly deleted it, now the club have tweeted a new shirt with Utilita as the sponsor, but only for the junior shirts...very odd
 
The announcement video on the club Twitter has Utilita as the sponsor, but says that it's just for Juniors and that the Adult one will be announced later???

Massive fuck up in comms here.
 
Saved me £100+

Not buying a shirt with a gambling company in it. Many others won’t. And kids won’t want a shirt different to the players.
In a town with massive gambling issues, this is irresponsible by the club, especially when they constantly go on about the good work they do for the community, mental health etc. It’s a kick in the teeth for all those in the Community Trust who work with and support people with personal issues.
 
Full credit to Beesley and Hubby, that acting is class.

They'll announce the Leo Vegas adult kit later, but the fact that they did the big production for the the Utilita kit shows that they knew the reception for the Leo Vegas wouldn't be great..

Having two sponsors for the adult and junior kit is super annoying, but that's surely more revenue for the club.

The kit itself is very simple, but I think that's often a good thing, the 2020/2021 season had a very simple kit and we know how that season ended up for us..
