Gary Bowyer Now Favourite .....

Certainly prefer Bowyer over Alexander.

Bowyer did a good job with us last time and I think he’s an experienced steady pair of hands who would do a good job for us again.

Ideally I want us to start afresh and I am hoping that Dobbs is appointed.

Did no one watch the Salford documentary? He couldn’t even get them in the play offs with the biggest budget by a distance. Nice guy but zero charisma his team talks were like being slapped around the face by a wet fish. He was also the guy who never played Gnanduillet unless forced to. Also left us in the lurch a couple of weeks before the season, that’s ok for him but not Appleton. Could someone tell me the rules please?

id rather have McPhillips and I’m not joking

And don't forget we had an insight into Richie Wellens in the Class of 92 series who also didn't appear particularly charismatic.

Agreed he wasn’t much better. He’s got a bit more about him though Wellens and I would at least be optimistic if he got the job.

Seems that most of the habitual moaners want Dobbie.

Does that mean there will be less griping if he gets the job? I'm all for it if so.

Or will everything be blamed on the lack of an open chequebook, the grass, the pieman, selling too many tickets to away fans?
My reasons for Dobbie
Loves the club and area
Obviously a good coach we can see it with our own eyes
Tactically aware
Knows the players in first and dev squad and knows their abilities and failings. Pretty important for deciding who stays and who goes
At 40 plenty of experience
Plenty of contacts north of the border which is where historically we have got our best players.
Fans will back him and give him time if required

I’m not sure you learn very much about someone from a documentary, particularly a football manager. Would any of us be our normal selves with a camera recording your every word. Unless fans went to games during that period, GB and his style will be new to everyone.

I like Dobbie and wouldn’t be disappointed at all with his appointment, but he did have a free hit in terms of chucking everything at it, in terms of attacking football. If people think he’d do that from game 1 in a full season then it’s an unrealistic expectation.

What this obsession to go back is I don't know.

Also he wouldn’t be popular on the whole, wouldn't inspire the fanbase, going back would divide people as it's back to a time we want to forget.

As said on a other thread, every time he's been back he's had abuse shouted at him. Why he'd be rushing back from being a hero where is is IDK, ok I do, money and a bigger club.

But it's not like he's some hero like Adam or Dobbie who are nothing but highly thought of and loved. Never had abuse shouted at them when returning.

IF we have a good win today, not really expecting it but you never know, I think there will be a lot more clamouring to appoint SD (9 points from 6 in the Championship with let’s face it a broken team). I would settle for that.

Bowyer started the season he left as boss. We drew the opening lg match then he departed a few days later.Rumours The Stains quibbled over paying a bill for pitches hired for training elsewhere because Squires Gate was in a poor condition. If rumours true then I don't blame him for resigning to get away from the tight gits.

He actually left two weeks after the start of the season, not two weeks before. Having said that, I wouldn’t want him back either.

Bowyer has a solid record with a couple promotions, has experience of running youth academies and developing young players, according to LinkedIn lives in Warrington, and has said he wants to move ‘upstairs’ eventually. Bring him in with Dobbie as no.2, and have a succession plan in place for a couple of years’ time.

I'm pretty sure I read that he's got a masters degree in football leadership or something like that.

I think he'd make an ideal Director of Football

Wild’s already spoke to the club.can’t see it being Critch or Wellens.either way I expect the new manager in by next week.

Wellens or Dobbie.
None of the others interest me in the slightest. Don't get the Dobbie as a number 2 shouts working under a guy who plays a totally different style to how Dobbie wants to either.
I'd actually be p*ssed off tbh if neither Wellens nor Dobbie got it and instead it went to one of the bland names that's been mentioned that play bland boring football.

Whilst technically he was Critchleys assistant I think Colin Calderwood would be a good shout as he knows the club and the division.

Give over. Join the real world. He’s been sacked about 10 times over the years absolutely dreadful record. Give it Critchley and make Dobbie assistant

Apparently Gary Barlow is now the favourite so is he the man to relight our fire, I pray he is but never forget that we need to have patience when everything changes Barlow is quoted as saying it's his greatest day and he wants to shine as the Tangerine's manager and he's sure that we can rule the world

It's a new day and he will be working Sunday to Saturday so get ready for it, could it be magic? And does it mean the good times are back for good!
