Alan Shearer now also pulled outI see Ian Wright has said he's decided not to appear on the show either in solidarity. Good for him.

She’s ruled herself outFear not, Alex Scott will be practicing her closing puns even as we type....
All hypocritesShearer pulls out now.
Lineker
Shearer
Wright
A lot of England goals there
I must say it fills my heart with joy seeing the progressives taking sides with rich whitey Lineker against that notorious Tory gammon Suella Braverman. I mean, what would that Tory bigot know about immigration with her background? Edifying Not.
Explain …All hypocrites
I guess for everybody it’s time to take sides.
What does that mean? Lineker or elected government. Is there some independent middle way? If so what is it? Braverman wearing a little bit of an SS uniform, the boots perhaps? With Lineker accepting he’s just a bit a of an overpaid **? To me the answer is pretty black and white.Or you can just address the issues independently.
Qatar???Explain …

Best idea I’ve heard in a long timeI think
it would be better without any overpaid and superfluous pundits...just show the highlights and let us make our own minds up about the matches.
He has a right to free speech but not on my coin. I can’t avoid paying his salary so I powerless to stunt his specious opinions. And free speech doesn’t mean being able to talk shit and Lineker talked shit. We covered that with Trump. It means I can criticise any (alleged) evasion of paying tax, whilst also supporting his right to free speech.
It was in response to that post you made where you purposefully tried to muddy the two issues in an attempt to make some facile point about hypocrisy.
It's not kosher to mention gammon and holocaust in same threadPoor little sensitive gammony gammons need to be protected from monsters like Lineker.
Well done the BBC, saving the gammon's tears.
Did Lineker/BBC not speak out about that? Interestingly, the BBC were happy to be political on that occasion and speak up about the appalling treatment of people then, I wonder what’s different this time? How strange.Qatar???

The idea Britain, at any time in history let alone 2023, is comparable to Nazi Germany is utterly absurd. It’s a stupid thing to say. It’s ignorant and insults the victims of Nazi Germany’s many crimes. If it was why do people risk their lives to get here? Can Lineker tell us about one person who risked their lives to cross the channel to get to live in Nazi Germany? Its ridiculous. He’s abused his position to spout fake news and misinformation.
Cruella is despicable.I must say it fills my heart with joy seeing the progressives taking sides with rich whitey Lineker against that notorious Tory gammon Suella Braverman. I mean, what would that Tory bigot know about immigration with her background? Edifying Not.
He still went.Did Lineker/BBC not speak out about that? Interestingly, the BBC were happy to be political on that occasion and speak up about the appalling treatment of people then, I wonder what’s different this time? How strange.
Micah Richards and Alex Scott also suggesting they won't participateIan Wright and Shearer have stood down in protest.
As did the BBC.He still went.
Excellent. I might even watch it tomorrow.Ian Wright and Shearer have stood down in protest.
Her parents came here legally. Maybe that’s her issue.Cruella is despicable.
Her attitude seems to be I'm here but I'm not having any other buggers coming to this country.
What a hypocrite.
The BBC are paid to report on events home and abroad by licence fee payers. Lineker can pick and choose where he works. Nobody forced him to work in Qatar. As did the BBC.
On a sports programme? Seems the BBC give out mixed messages. They do consist to buckle to right wing political pressure though, that’s apparent. The BBC are paid to report on events home and abroad by licence fee payers. Excellent newsMicah Richards and Alex Scott also suggesting they won't participate
Looks like it might be a Jeremy Clarkson and Farage production!!
If Lineker and his band of merry men boycotted the World Cup then we could have taken him more seriously but he didn't. He had plenty of time to campaign for human rights for the migrant workers who, incidently, made his life more comfortable when he worked out there. On a sports programme? Lineker contractually obliged?
Better for the rest of us!I see Ian Wright has said he's decided not to appear on the show either in solidarity. Good for him.
Is he campaigning or expressing an opinion? Regardless of my thoughts on his ability as a tv presenter or his moral compass, the issue is he’s tweeted a personal opinion that hasn’t broken any laws and which the current incumbents in government don’t like so have put pressure on the BBC whilst also enjoying the political distraction it’s brought. All gamesmanship. If Lineker and his band of merry men boycotted the World Cup then we could have taken him more seriously but he didn't. Oh dearAll the channels are ramming womens football down our throats, whilst it’s got its place I doubt if many men actually watch it as a competitive sport.
I’d add I find Lineker ok too TBF.
What a load of shitLineker is doing this because the HMRC are chasing him for £4.6m in tax he’s managed to dodge. Their view is he’s an employee of the BBC. He says he’s freelance. He’s offering a service to the BBC and he’s paid tax on some limited company he set up with his mum or somebody. If Lineker can get away with blatantly breaching the BBC’s impartiality rules it strengthens his position with the HMRC. You’ll notice the BBC news have started referring to him as freelance so he’s used his influence even there. All to avoid paying taxes like all good liberal hypocrites.
So there you have it. Saintly Lineker supported by some posters on here is currently avoiding £4.6m in taxes and being paid the equivalent of 11,000 license fees extorted from often poorly paid people with threats of violence. And amid all this he’s involved in a bun fight with a female minister who is the daughter of immigrants. Think about all that. I guess for everybody it’s time to take sides.
Now that’s something I’d pay the licence fee to watch. Do you think they’ll make it permanent?
Could you tell me where I’m going wrong? It‘ll help me grapple with intellectual giants like yourself in the future. What a load of shitc
