Gammon tears are presumably very salty.Poor little sensitive gammony gammons need to be protected from monsters like Lineker.
Well done the BBC, saving the gammon's tears.
MOTD with no presenters tomorrow.

Get Paul Whitehouse in, jumpers for goalpostsIt seems there will be no presenter for MOTD as no bugger will do it. This is a fun Friday. I was rather hoping they'd use a hologram version of Jimmy Hill voiced over by stephen Hawkings.
We could all have a go at presenting MOTD the AVFTT Version’s. Now that would be entertaining or at least a laugh. It seems there will be no presenter for MOTD as no bugger will do it. This is a fun Friday. I was rather hoping they'd use a hologram version of Jimmy Hill voiced over by stephen Hawkings.
He'd agree to do it then sod off to go fishing!Get Paul Whitehouse in, jumpers for goalposts
That isn't what he said, he said the language being used was similar to the 1930's which by any measure is true.FWIW
We don't live in a society agent like the 1930's in Germany. It's laughable to make the comparison.
GL should be able to say the comment, irrespective of whether it's true, without fear of losing the gig.
The BBC is in institutionally left; but it's trying too hard not to be. Most of their public facing staff are the rich left; and that's fine, people aren't stupid.
HMG shouldn't be getting involved in trying to get journalists and broadcasters silenced; it's overreach and unhealthy and actually gives a whiff of credence to original allegation.
MOTD is going to be a million times better without a host. It might actually be the way forward which would beneficial for all of us. More time for football and not waffle.
Absolute storm in a tea cup!
let’s eat turnipsLet’s stick to just watching the hi lights without having to listen to the tripe in between. Getting rid of the presenter would save a fortune
Better than those foreign tomatoes...let’s eat turnips
Can we just clarify that he didn't compare this Government to Nazi Germany. What a mess.
Viewers rarely have a clue who's an employee and who's a freelancer like Lineker - the BBC have shot themselves in the foot by having different standards and potential consequences for the two.
But Lineker hasn't helped himself by using the language he did.
Comparing government policy to Nazi Germany distracts from his point.
No surprise that he's been criticised by the chief exec of the Holocaust Educational Trust for using that reference.
And, in today's Times, in a column by a rabbi in Maidenhead.
And in a letter from David Bernstein (former FA chairman).
It also has unintended consequences.
Also in today's Times - Eye on Antisemitism, an online monitoring service, warned that hijacking the Holocaust had become "a huge trend". An exec added "Lineker has ignited an ember in the fire of the extreme far right. It's not OK to invoke the Holocaust to score political points".
Those comments were endorsed by the chief exec of the Association of Jewish Refugees.
He didn't say that. Carry on spouting fake news and misinformation. What does that mean? Lineker or elected government. Is there some independent middle way? If so what is it? Braverman wearing a little bit of an SS uniform, the boots perhaps? With Lineker accepting he’s just a bit a of an overpaid **? To me the answer is pretty black and white.
The idea Britain, at any time in history let alone 2023, is comparable to Nazi Germany is utterly absurd. It’s a stupid thing to say. It’s ignorant and insults the victims of Nazi Germany’s many crimes. If it was why do people risk their lives to get here? Can Lineker tell us about one person who risked their lives to cross the channel to get to live in Nazi Germany? Its ridiculous. He’s abused his position to spout fake news and misinformation.
Agreed - but with the gagging Tories who are shaping the BBC in their 1930’s vision it’s time as a football group we boycott M of T Day and this is the start of the end of the Government and soooooooo long overdueI don't care which side of the political divide Lineker is on and whether I agree with his opinion or not.
It's wrong that he can't voice an opinion. He's a sports presenter ffs not a political one.
And a very good sports presenter at that.
I could understand if he started spouting off whilst he was on tv, but this was done in
his own time.
I suppose MOTD will now be presented by Alex Scott with her worn out cliches.
I thought that didn't exist....Cancel culture alive and well.
Seen Grealish on it and he's far left wing so not so sure.BOYCOTT Match of the Day as it’s a right wing programme
I'll send the boys around to you in the van tomorrow.Bunch of two faced bastard's anyhow. Stopped paying my TV licence couple of years ago because of the shite that channel now puts out.
Should read Prats of the Day.
Sky reporting that might happenWould like to see the BBC football commentators come out in solidarity as well, that would shake things up!
And why not : the Google boxers are right - what has Matt Hancock ever done for us that you or I couldn’t have done ?I notice that the Goggleboxers were slagging off Matt Hancock tonight on what is a publicly funded channel.
Suspend the lot of them.
They've probably exhausted everyone they can to try to present it and no one wants to do it coz the woke, lefty BBC is run by Tory cuntsthe waffling between games is why I dont watch it to be honest.Twenty minutes talking about United it drags the show on for ages.Just show the ten minute highlights back to back.Bang done and everyone can go to bed.
Not sure why they dont just put Mark Chapman in as host and Jermaine Jenas as lead pundit.I also always thought Kevin Kilbane was a very good pundit on MOTD2 few years ago now.I think both those two would improve the analysis.
I was thinking Big Gary Madine and Jerry after a few pints!Get Chizzy and Brett to do it
Can we just clarify that he didn't compare this Government to Nazi Germany.
He said the language used was similar to that of Germany in the 30s.
There is a difference, and it's true.
RubbishThat isn't what he said, he said the language being used was similar to the 1930's which by any measure is true.
I'm sure I've seen him on BT Sport alreadyBT Sport he comes. I imagine he'll really suffer financially.
Watch out for those small boats
Indeed, and their other ‘best presenter’ David Attenborough is now being gagged over Episode 6 of his series re Britain as it’s too pro Green - the facts never reach the public these days on any issueZarah Sultana MP © @zarahsultana
It's a good time to remember that the Chairman of the BBC is Richard Sharp, someone who's donated £400,000+ to the Conservatives and helped Boris Johnson with an £800,000 loan.
Let's remember that when they talk about
BBC "impartiality".
