Gnaduillet's replacement

I've been hearing links to Miller from a few Scouse mates since Critchley first took over - apparently they're very close and is someone Critchley rates VERY highly. Also the player himself is after a move away to kickstart his career as breaking into the first team doesn't seem realistic (which is fair) and his loan in Scotland wasn't a productive as he, or LFC, had hoped.
I cant see Grigg or Taylor fitting into the new Blackpool ethos Sadler is looking for - they're obviously talented players - but they will command big wages, there is no real re-sale value, and they're already at the peak of their powers and I think we'll be looking to develop players instead. I can't imagine we'll be looking to sign players over 24/25 going forward unless their is an immediate need/hole to fill in the squad.
You don't bring in a 'coach'- especially one with such a reputation and background in youth development if you're going to go for players who are essentially ready-made and arguably less able to develop.

Will Grigg is a bit of an enigma. I watched him at his best for Wigan and he was terrific. What happened after his move is baffling. I know there is a top player in there somewhere.

Griggs has really only had sporadic success.
Once every 3 seasons he’ll be “on fire” (pun intended) bringing you a goal every other game.

Sometimes that’s been because of a step up to Championship level which he’s struggled with, most recently due to the fact he went to the basket case that is Sunderland.

he’s 29 shortly, I’d be disappointed if we pursued him.

It’ll be interesting to see if Madine is in NC plans, on the surface Doesn’t seem to to be his type of player.

As Athers has said, think there’s something with Hardie, should be given a shot.

Does anyone think Madine will come good or have we signed a duffer?
30 this year and was slow when I saw him play.

He's on a massive wage I was told, he only has this year under contract. Can probably score a good amount at League One level but can't see him being with us past 12 months.

We certainly need one more striker. Yussef will be shipped out. Leaves us with Hardie, Nuttall and Madine. I think all 3 will contribute but can’t see any of them getting near Gnando’s total.

Taylor from Bristol City would be a good signing. I’m sure Critchley has a wish list of his own

Madine is a good player especially for League One if he can keep out of trouble. Hardie did well at Plymouth and should feature regularly next season, we still need 3 more strikers there are a lot of games to be played and injuries and loss of form need to be covered.

There's the problem. None of them is going to get us promoted. I hope the manager uses his contacts to bring a striker in, but I don't expect him to be an 18 goal man like AG.

Did Yussuf ever get a full game?

Madine can fit into Critchleys style of play, he can hold the ball and bring others into play better than Gnands ever could. He wasn't fully fit in the matches he played but first half at the Cods he bossed the game and we played some fluent passing football.

He simply isn't just a lone man up front. If Hardie can replicate his success at Plymouth back with us then maybe Madine and Hardie could have a good bit of success. All that said, I'm sure Critchley will have his own ideas and there will be other irons in the fire with regards to strikers.
Grigg if we are in for him I reckon is a bit of an enigma. In a successful team dominating opponents, he'll get you the goals. Put him in a less than average team and ask him to feed of scraps all he'll struggle as there is not much else to his game.

We do need another striker who can get us at least 20+ plus goals to get us out of L1 with other players chipping in as well, hopefully we already may have those players if NC can get the best out of them. NC will undoubtedly strengthen the team to meet the ambitions and style of play required by SS, the board and fans.

The Gazette certainly suggests they are looking to bringing in some additions in the striking department, following the loss of Gnanduilett

I would love to think that there is a chance Critchley can work with Hardie and we might get the best out of him, especially after his spell at Argyle showing he can find the net regularly in the right side. Might be best suited as off the bench, swapped with Madine. I'm not 100% certain on Madine but I suspect if Critchley plays a more pressing style to feet it will suit him more. I do think we need one more though cos I've not been impressed enough with our other options.

Will Ewan Bange feature.
We could do with some of the youth coming through. Who was last striker to come through tricky Trevor
