Grimshaw

OK not his best game but he is a good league 1 keeper ffs .
Depressing reading all this slating our players
Need to remind myself AVFTT doesn't represent our supporter base and take a night off .

As it is I have a nice Chilean Malbec in - might even watch MOTD

Not really Maxwell got absolute pelters last season by some of our fans he was scapegoat number 1.
The constant moans of Grimshaw is better why is he not starting,we wouldn't go down if he was in nets etc this season is proving they where wrong.

He has been average and O'Donnell deserves his place.
3rd best in League for clean sheets but yeah he's been average.

Nah, he's just the latest scapegoat. Next week it'll be someone else.

10th out of 24 isn't average to you? I'm glad I didn't have your maths teacher!

For the record, I defended Maxwell because although he was average too, he didn't deserve the shit he got.

I stick by my pre season posts... We needed then and still need now 2 better goalkeepers!

Technically it's above average and third for clean sheets with our defence is decent.

As I said; next game it'll be someone else.

When a keeper doesn't have a save to make, which happened a few times early in the season, a clean sheet means f*ck all on a keepers stats! He's bang average, as I've pointed out many times, and he's currently behind Maxwell's stats from our last season in this division. We need better and have needed better for quite some time!

Hold up, last season when he wasn't playing he was the greatest keeper since Lev Yashin.

At least this site is consistent in being full of shit.

I'm not saying o donnel is a better keeper but his positioning/decision making seems better atm, Bristol away he made at least 2 point blank saves 2nd half and Bolton at home played well, the goal we conceded at stevenage Grimmy should of done better but we have conceded a lot of poor goals this season mainly through trying to pass it out from the back and stupid deflections and sticking your foot out when sometimes you don't need to. I think we are where we are and until the players treat every away game like a cup final we are not gonna move forward.

Another for O'Donnell. Most keepers should make saves, it's on their CV. However Grimmy's demeanour just doesn't inspire confidence full stop. O'Donnell is the total opposite, very vocal on the pitch & when we signed him other players stated, he was very encouraging in training & around the dressing room. With Casey still be relatively inexperienced & Marv dithering, would certainly help having a leader behind them.

I have always thought he was a decent shot stopper but never comes for crosses and never organises the defence. I said in pre season we should have invested in a new first choice keeper and kept Grimshaw as back up.

There is no point in standing on your line at corners because you can’t cover the whole goal and coming out to punch or catch means you can prevent headers or maybe get a free kick.

He’s not for me I’m afraid.

Watching the highlights back, Grimmy rather than trying to keep out their goal puts his hand in the air and the ball whistles by where his hand would have been. Is this another coaching tactic trying to get shocking officials to change their minds? How's about playing to the whistle like Oxfraud did?

I'd sooner have their keeper who came through the Chelsea ranks and is 2 years younger. Grimshaw is 26 now so should be hitting his prime.

He's gone backwards this season and O'Donnell deserves a run of games.
Good shot stopper but his distribution is awful and he doesn't command his box at all from crosses/corners which has been a weakness all season.

I think we may have won every game O'Donnell has played.

Ya I totally agree he looks like he's lost alot of confidence and it affects the team as whole but that is down to the boss ,seems pretty obvious to me though

I don't see any improvement in Grimshaw. Lacks height and physical presence which means he's unable to dominate his 6 yard box. Also, his distribution leaves a lot to be desired. O'Donnell can consider himself unlucky to not have kept his place after his very good performance against Bolton.

Well ok their goal did looked off side ,and the Ref was a real knob didn't give us owt ,but could easily of lost 1 3 yesterday and Grimshaw is becoming a liability

O Donnell probably doesn't listen to the root cause of Grimmy,s loss of form.
BANKS.
He appears to be a bigger influence on the bench than the other 2 dummies.
Has during his long tenure ever improved any goal keeper?
Time to replace. Grimshaw has definately gone backwards .
