Haaland

If you like Harlem Globetrotters circus football played for the delectation of credit card companies, oil barons and their ilk, I'm sure it was a terrific spectacle.

Me, I prefer Rumanian communist division 2 games from the 1983 season on old betamax tapes because I am such a churlish soul that I deny myself pleasure to make a pointless stand against modernity.

I literally just posted this for the lols cos 20s innit. I actually listened to the game and enjoyed it really. Haaland is a freak.
You couldn’t beat a game during the 60’s/70’s in an East European state complete with row after row of uniformed soldiers creating a hostile atmosphere!

First time I’ve been able to watch Haaland for the full 90 minutes and the lad is an absolute monster. He’s literally got it all. If you were going to design a footballer he’s what you’d end up with. He’s not the sort of player you’d pay just to watch like Henry, Zidane, Ronaldinho etc but he really is something else. Man City really are a pleasure to watch when firing on all cylinders. I can’t see how any team in the world could stop them without a lot of luck. Haaland, Foden and De Bruyne must absolutely love playing together.

I do think it’s a bit weird that a nation can buy a football club?

Wait until William is on the throne and he buys Villa. All Royalists will be forced to change allegiance and support our national Premier League team

It was exciting watching European games in these old ex Soviet places. The commentary also sounded like they were on a distant phone line. Due to lack of saturation of the game all the opposition players were mysterious and slightly sinister.

City are a remarkable team but something about them leaves me a little bit cold. City were a proper club with an identity a soul, until they were bought by a very wealthy nation, Newcastle will be next. Awaiting China to buy Spurs.....

I'm beginning to think Haaland was created in a test tube in some dodgy Spectre-esque laboratory. That, or in some gene enhancing lab or other by the Russkies like Dolph Lundgren in Rocky 4. It's like a 16 year old joining in the the First years at school.

I haven't watched any EPL games since 2011 and I never watched any before 2010. I also don't watch the Champions League, England friendlies or Mickey Mouse tournaments. I like to watch the FA cup until the last 2 or 3 rounds, I love the play off games and the World & Euro cups and that's about it. My football hit goes as far as BFC really and has done for 30 years. Nothing wrong with that, just my personal choice.
Same. I like the Scottish Championship games on BBC on Friday cos it fills a qap when I'm often at a loose end but I have literally no desire to watch anything else. If there was Premier League on normal telly in Friday night, I'd probably watch that too sometimes.

I follow it on the radio mostly cos I can do other things whilst it's on. I'm not sure if I envy people who have time to watch 5,6,7 games a week every week or not. I suspect I don't have the patience. I love it every 4 years in the World Cup but all the time, I couldn't be bothered.

It's an opinion, there's no right or wrong, you don't have to argue every point as if your opinion is the only correct one, it's tedious.

Come now, AVFTT would fold in a week if people stopped doing that.

He's a fantastic player who is the icing on a pretty good cake.

He is going to be up there with the best, like your Messi's, your Ibrahimovic's, your Bob Hatton'e etc

His pace and movement are beyond belief. Now where haven't I seen that before......

I'm sure the lad will shine in the CL.
He'll be a star in the European Super League that 20s will be avidly signing up to watch.

think we've been here before. I'm strongly against the formation of a ESL. But I'm a strong advocate of the EPL which is where I'd love BFC to be but it seems perhaps a lot of our fans have limited ambitions for the club seeing as they can't abide it.

Haaland's father married a female athlete, and the result is a player that is virtually unplayable. Unfortunately, most premier league players
pick their wives mostly on their looks, and sometimes if they also have money and fame if they are in a girl band.
Imagine if David Beckham instead of marrying a spice girl had married Denice Lewis and they had kids, we would probably be looking at similar results. There is still time though for the ultimate England goal machine though if Gary Madine got together with Dina Asher-Smith:).

Selective breeding ehh, ok how about Duncan Ferguson +Ronda Rousey 🤔 that’s a bit too scary ,how about Peter Beardsley + Nichola Sturgeon 😱 nah that would be even scarier for different reasons

There's definitely something in this. Geoff Capes should have bred with Fatima Whitbread to create the perfect centre back.

You say that Shandy but she's just been booted of SAS Who dares wins - that AJ off've Strictly looks like he might have the right stuff though 👍 😗

China is waiting for Man Utd to go on the market.

He is scary.... Imagine in mid Decmeber when most Premier League defenders come back from.the WC a bit knackered, carrying a few knocks and he returns (fresh as a Daisy) ... from a nice 5/6 week break !?!???

I wonder if he’s happy about being subbed. He was probably looking for several more goals in the second half, and as he’s not going to the World Cup, he’s got a good break coming.

Sergio Aguero’s son is Maradona’s grandson and his godfather is Messi.
He can’t trap a bag of cement though 😝

Wonder how many he’ll score today at home to Southampton, he must be licking his lips. Unless of course Pep brings him off when he’s scored two.

Frightening to think how many he will score this season and good to see a player at the very top choose England instead of Spain.
If he got injured though I think that leaves City short up front. Without him I would pick Liverpool's squad over City's even though many wouldn't. Haaland massively tips the balance the other way though.
