The board appointed him. They knew the feeling. I keep saying this point because it’s important.
Appleton could tell some of our fans they’ve just won the Euromillions and they’d be pissed off it was him telling them.
But again just to remind people, he didn’t appoint himself. He didn’t let Bowler go and he doesn’t make the half arsed bids for players.
Yep this is why from the start the feelgood factor seemingly wasn't considered, the board did it anyway.
He was always going to be up against it, needed to do well and hasn't.
Once here people were getting over some misconceptions and dislike.... but he had to do well.
Not all his fault, not well backed, although the loans were probably his influence, some good some bad.
Very unlucky with injuries etc, but we always seem to be, same last season and the one before that.
Despite all that he has to take some blame as said in your other thread. Demeanour is poor, painting the negative picture spreads, even if it is negative.
Hes at times made quick subs, at other time been lacking, so probably even there.
Ultimately he is responsible for the performances, unlucky and dealt a bad hand but still at times very poor, defensively weak etc.
Add in losing the fans and the other negatives, I can't see it ending well.
I think he's alright, its a shame what happened, but also can't say I'd miss him.
From the off I said we need a new man maybe with an ex player connection to boost ticket sales and excitement, get the feelgood factor back.
Lets face it its been gone from the moment he arrived and the poor summer we had.
Problem now is anyone who comes in is joining a team in trouble and probably won't get as much support as they would have in summer if they lose games.
Shit show.
