Happy Valley

They have a hell of a lot of loose ends to tie up next week with Tommy Lee, the dead lady in the suitcase and the 2 stooges who think they are bucking the 30k.

It will be a very busy last episode!
apparently its an hour and ten minutes long. whu huu

My guess is Tommy batters Catherine to within an ace of her life again. Ryan kills Tommy. Catherine recovers eventually. They drive off to the Himalayas.
I've missed a couple of episodes, need to bring myself back up to date, but that's my guess.
Thanks for the tip for watching the show Lala, it's been great 👍

Thought it was a great bit of writing to not kill Richard at the meeting he went to. It was all leading to that but it was a dead end. It was very tense.

Great stuff but i'm a bit lost on the 2 sub plots (maybe due to how long ago last series was) The pharmacist & girl he killed who was on drugs. & the drug gang etc not sure how they all fit in

Ok, so Darius Knezevic is the guy who got Tommy out of prison and picked him up last night in the van. He is also a big gangster drug dealer who Tommy disposed of a body for years ago. He is also the big boss of the 2 lads who are his drug runners and general lackeys.

These 2 are planning on running off with 30k of drugs related profits they have syphoned off for themselves.

The girl in the suitcase was in a very abusive marriage that saw her become isolated and addicted to diazepam. The pharmacist was supplying her diazepam illegally for payment in kind but that all went a bit south when her husband found the illegal tablets and reported her to the police putting the pharmacist in a very precarious position.

Darius Knezevic’s minions were taking regular amounts of pharmaceuticals from the chemist to sell on, against the will of the chemist.

Actually just started watching this yesterday and then stumbled across this thread just now. We have just completed the first series and really enjoyed it.

I don't want to look at this thread as there may be spoilers for the next season but I have a question.

In the last episode, how does Kevin know that Anne was raped? It is a confidential thing between Anne, Catherine and Annes dad so it wasn't common knowledge. From what i remember none of the bad guys specifically told him that she was raped, so how would he know when he is in prison?

It was a secret from Helen, Anne’s mum but after she died I’m assuming it was something Tommy Lee was charged with along with everything else ?

Have you also noticed that whenever we see the teachers 2 daughters, one of them is always wearing her anorak and never speaks. It looks like her father may also have been hitting her as well as his now deceased wife.
I think that child has seen stuff or just has her dad sussed, or yes, maybe he has been.

But he talks about it at the end of season 1, Annes mum has only just died in this second episode of season 2!

Is Sally Wainwright a pseudonym of Lala? I'm sure they're one and the same person, as Lala knows everything about Happy Valley ... but won't be spoiling the conclusion 😄

If Catherine dies (please no, let her retire with a bang & a party with that £2k+ collection), her fans will riot on the streets 👍

Some of his movements around the streets of Leeds made no sense. Continuity all over the place.
When you know the places where its filmed, some of the locations don't fit at all but to those who are not familiar, it generally threads together.
Sheffield prison was actually Wakefield, the cafe scene was somewhere else and then when they were next driving, it was back in the streets of Halifax in reality !

PS The house where TLR is currently hiding is literally one mile from my house !!

47 hours to go……been loads of hype & teasers all week surrounding the final episode, including the main BBC news channels.
Going to good but first the small matter of getting a result at the Riverside.

I think it will be like a World Cup final night when there isn’t a car on the street and no sign of life outside for the 70 mins duration of the episode.

So so excited !

Yes there's a lot of anticipation about this final episode. I can't remember seeing a drama being a story on the BBC news.

Looking forward to it, but it would be a lot more enjoyable if we've got something at Middlesbrough.

Think this has to be the best recommendation ever @Lala

Agree about the recommendation. I’d seen the adverts and gave it a miss cos I thought it was something like ‘Call the Midwives’.
Took Karen at her word and loved every minute of it!

👏👏👏

For what it’s worth, Alison surely has to play a pivotal role in the finale?

That’s a good point re Alison. She’s made an appearance in the series as we know and so must be a consideration in the final bloodbath.
