Has Andy Pilley been sentenced yet ?

Not long to go now Mr P - wonder if he’s in training with porridge for breakfast and keeping hold of that soap in the shower 😍

Pilleys In Jail
And he’s stolen all your mail
Pilleys in Jail….

Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah

Didn't I read somewhere that a huge bail had been paid for him? Maybe not?
No. You don’t get bail when you’ve been convicted of an offence that carries a lengthy sentence.

Possibly the figure you’d heard was for the ill-gotten profits that will be seized.

In theory he could have been bailed but once convicted the flight risk increases and there is no longer a presumption in favour of
of bail its at the judges discretion.

His sister was convicted but she was bailed as were others. I think it was Mr Pilley's particular circs and possible links to other countries that led him to be remanded.

Ouch, if he's in Preston prison that won't be pleasant. Knew someone who spent time in there, in the 1990s only a short period. But that was more than enough for him. Even now I can't imagine it's too much different.

Agree especially at his age.

Doing a bit of bird in your twenties is one thing. Doing it in your fifties not knowing how long you are getting after having the life he's had must be horrendous.

At the end of the day though its not meant to be pleasant.

It’s only what pilley deserves for ripping off disabled charities etc. caused loads of people to lose their small businesses whilst he was living the high life without a care in the world for these poor people

Obviously this is an important issue for him and his family. But I must confess I'm more interested in what will happen to the club. He's built it up and funded it to an unsustainable degree. I'm mildly surprised that their fans appear not to be talking about it to any great extent that I can see.

Fleetwood fans think it’s business as usual and nothing to be at all concerned about
How can BES continue to be licensed as pilley is the owner etc ?

If you read the cod army FB page they're in denial.
Surely they'll become an Accrington or a Morecambe with a smaller budget and needing an exceptional manager to maintain L1 and maybe even L2.
Poolfoot is an interesting one.

Not all Cod's fans are in denial a bit like this site don't take everything as gospel.

Spoke to a ST holder today and they admitted there fucked without AP money and their rightful place is lower down the pyramid.

In what ways are they in denial? As far as I see it, Pilley will go down for a stretch and will want his assets when he comes out. His businesses will continue and so there will always be money there. OK maybe not as much but he's already made the investment in the ground etc and you get enough TV money nowadays that if you spend it wisely you can survive a few seasons at this level.

Who wants to do business with a convicted fraudster? Who is going to licence a business run by a convicted fraudster?

Then there’s the asset forfeiture…

So why do they make continue to make losses virtually every year then and are in debt to the tune of 25 million ?

Do you honestly think they are sustainable in league 1 with their fan base and tv money

The tv money in league 1 is crap

I have heard that it is one of the worst, with the whole remand wing stinking of 💩
Over crowding at the jail has seen the operating capacity drop from over a 1000 to 680 in recent years.
That said its a victorian jail and it's accommodation is still very cramped. Ventilation is a huge problem and that leads to a lot of damp around the shower / recess areas.
All that aside it's still the most well controlled 'closed' prison out of those public / private in the North West.

I think a few on here are in for a very long wait if they think Fleetwood are going down the pan any time soon.
I suppose it depends upon what you mean by "going down the pan".

As it happens, I don't expect that there will be any quick demise either. But I do think that they are going to :

1) have to dramatically reduce expediture

2) have to try to sweat out. even more revenue (difficult, as they have done pretty well in that regard)

3) need to work hard to find a new owner who can keep them competitive - not easy as they aren't what you would call an attractive commercial proposition

They are an interesting case study - one of the first of the genuine vanity projects, and one of the few where there has been a big change in the status of the person bankrolling said project. I think the EFL have a lot to contend with in this instance. I just hope any Proceeds of Crime order focusses exclusively on the non-football part of his business interests, because if it doesn't, the club really is in trouble.

Not so sure it will be ‘business as usual’ for his businesses particularly BES, can’t see it continuing also his assists will be subject to a POCA application by the prosecutor. Uncertain times ahead

I’d agree with most of that. 😮
