If Appleton had have come over to us at the end…..

a member of my family has offered to show you how to google a football manager's role for free. 🤣
What does googling ‘A football managers role’ have to do with anything?

You spouted nonsense like ‘He’s part of the performance’ and similar incomprehensible shyte…

Had you actually managed to cobble together a collection of words that actually formed something resembling a meaningful sentence then perhaps we could have had a more meaningful discussion ..

Anyway… Now we’ve established you are talking about a ‘Football Manager’s Role” …

Why did the idiot from the Gazette choose to focus an article on a negative like ‘Appleton not behaving like a performing seal and clapping people who have spent recent games chanting abuse in his general direction’ instead of sticking to the important matter of the football itself. ?

The answer is simple… He’s a shit stirring cnut!

You quite clearly like to wave £10 notes you clueless loon.

You asked for us both to end the conversation but you carried on afterwards so make your mind up.
I was engaging with someone else (not you), until you engaged me again. I was hoping you’d maybe sobered up.

If you’ve nothing to say on the topic, then it’s pointless continuing.

My mates are split on this, some think you should acknowledge travelling fans whereas I really couldn’t care less. I thought MA made a good point, he knows he isn’t popular but doesn’t want it to affect the players who have put a shift in, you could say that’s good management.

We need to collectively grow up, if he turns it around we need to give him the recognition. It feels like patience is always going to be low with him and why? Because he played for Preston or left us during the Oyston years, it’s pathetic really. We should be there to get behind the team rather than obsessing with the manager, the players put a shift in against Hull.

As fans we’ve got a big part to play and we need to stand up and stop this nonsense.

More than ever now, we the fans need to get behind the manager and team.
I’m not in the gang showing the level of vitriol to MA. As in real life, when in the role of Manager, you quickly learn you ain’t going to be everybody’s cup of tea.
MA probably realises that and recognises the effort needed to get over the hand he’s been dealt.
A lot of points still to play for and more importantly a United fan base will help get us over the line.

It's all about respect and acknowledgement. Nothing to do with clapping or waving.
Respec.. Yes Aye 😂

** hell…

You mean like chanting “You’re getting sacked in the morning” to a bloke who is trying his best to keep our team performing in the most trying circumstances..

If I was in his position the fans would be getting the middle finger and the coffee shaker wave!!

Whilst doing the dance steps to Agadoo may ingratiate him with some of our mouth breathing fans, I'm not sure it improves performances on the pitch.

Personally, I think he needs to go back to the Armfield and show his tattoos again. That will probably silence the unkempt mob.

Remember him doing it once 2nd half, not sure it led straight to their goal.

He was a big threat, more than a knackered Beesley.

Many of them at times gave the ball away cheaply.

Patino kept hoofing it aimlessly at times.
Yes, apologies. I meant to write red card not goal.

i think that for Appleton to consciously not clap the fans at the end because he’s “dammed if he does and dammed if he doesn’t” is a very poor decision on his part and maybe is a good clue as to his current mindset. The bottom line is that we pay to be at the game and he’s paid to be there and do a job. Whilst the job doesn’t include clapping the fans, acknowledging their attendance as in part we are paying his wage would be common courtesy. Fans expressing their happiness with or displeasure with a performance is what they do and if he can’t deal with it he is in the wrong job. He’s a dead man walking, we all know it including him I suspect, time to put him out of his misery Mr Sadler.

He can’t win whatever he does.
Correct. His actions look like that he has resulted in losing the crowd. By the players reaction, who don't respond to his sulking, they don't care. At Cardiff it looked all but Madine and Connolly were going to walk off but then they all came over and got a very warm reception. Results were not always great under Ayre or Ellis but they related to the support.

As I put on another thread... to connect better with fans....

It's not about doing a shaky hand then 3 planned fist pumps but if someone with passion has just secured a big 3 points and goes over to the away fans, it's like a player scoring a goal, you celebrate, passion takes over, even a clenched fist, a raised hand, show some emotion.

I get that's not his style but that helps engage managers with fans when you can see how much it means to them.

As it is he's not really involved in the wins (remember them) he's just a bloke clapping in the background.

Of course if we're constantly winning loads of games then no one cares as much anyway. But his lack of emotion, which is his personality, is probably why he hasn't connected with fanbases at some clubs he's been at.
