If you could pick a past manager who would it be

I wouldn't want any ex-manager to return, but I'd pick Ian Holloway as the Manager who's football I enjoyed the most.

Yes it was a great time here while Morty was managing...and he brought Green and Hutch in.
As with Holloway the players all seemed to enjoy playing for him too.

I think it's great that quite a big section of our fan base would go for a manager managing in a less successful era than many . It Shows what passion , integrity and an effort to play good football under any circumstance can do and the bond it creates.
Billy Ayre will never be forgotten👍

Harry Evans. The only man to lead us to a Div 2 (Championship) title. Also, under his reign we achieved our highest ever number of goals scored by our top goalscorer: 45 league goals by Jimmy Hampson.

Got to be Morty for me, it's what made me the footy mad fool I've become.watching the likes of Tony Green,Alan Suddick, (who I found out I was related to after I got married) Tommy Hutchison etc. With King Billy as coach.

Billy Ayre was an amazing fella and there was no sense of him grandstanding or game playing. He was just an honest and passionate man. Also, the number of young players he brought through was terrific. Not all of them were top class but think about how all of these were in and around the squad within a season of each other.

Sinclair, Wright, Bonner, Beech, Mitchell, Gouck (off the top of my head)

We really should have something prominent named after him. He means more to me than Ollie. I'm not demeaning Ollie or his achievements but Billy was absolutely committed, an absolute gentleman and was treated abysmally at the end and in my mind he's a true legend.

Totally agree td53 I had the pleasure of meeting Billy and what you saw is what you got, loved the man everything I admire in a person.

Billy ayre (amazingly grounded man) , that's it for me, I suggest we never go back to any previous manager, let's move onward and go for a new younger coach with experience of u23/u21 coaching, a keen eye for talent and able to encourage our current younger players, with their own experiences. a new manager without previous failure on their record. Eager and Hungry for 100% effort !!

In terms of managers I've seen it would have to be Holloway, but maybe we need a Major Frank Buckley type to instil a bit of belief in the side.
