Ipswich on Saturday

Be interesting to see how the two clubs have progressed since they defeated us, heavily, at home
Realise we were disappointed at the hastily-arranged fixture.
It looked, at that point, as though we were light years away from being serious contenders.
We're not usually too successful at Portman Road
Have we improved, they deteriorated, or both?

Their home form is shocking and most of their fans want Lambert out. They've made a few signings so may be a little unsettled also. I see no reason why we can't go there and get 3 points.

It’s strange because back then we had no injury concerns where as now we are heavily depleted and we are no doubt stronger as a team now.
A draw would do nicely on Saturday, especially with us playing bottom of the league at home on Tuesday.

We are more than capable of winning. This team is far different in many ways than the team beaten comfortably in that stupid fixture.

Think we might struggle if we have to put out the same starting 11 as last night.

Ipswich although looking a long way off play-off contenders are a much more organised and solid side than Northampton are.

Let’s hope one or two of the missing 10 players are back Saturday.

I have been going to Portman road since the early sixties and never seen us win there, I have a feeling this could be our lucky day at long last, although I thought exactly the same back i n 2009 having beaten Boro on the Tuesday night and Ipswich languishing down the bottom of the league we blew it.

We've never won there. It's in the stars 😁

History doesn’t matter, completely different teams and management on both sides. We’ll have players back by then, but pity we don’t have CJ available. We’ll win. Utmp!

Not a good hunting ground for us, although we’re more than capable of turning them over I’m already worried about the officials. They love a homer at Portman Rd.

Actually we had a really makeshift defence. Gabriel made his debut, and so did Garbutt despite having no pre-season and hardly training with us, and Turton played left side of central defence - which is why Gabriel was thrown in.

Some difficult choices for Saturday. Ballard or Thorniley, Turton or Gabriel. Will Madine be back or should he stick with Simms?

We have never won at Burton or Fleetwood.
That soon changed!
You can't compare those two to the Ipswich jinx. We beat Fleetwood the first time we played them at Highbury so that's irrelevant straight away. We've only played them a handful of times at their grounds over the last 10 years or so anyway.

Ipswich is probably 100 years and counting
