Oops Dave hope I didn’t pass on any of my germs to you or vice versa yesterdayMy lad has been feeling rough with similar symptoms for a few days.
He works in a shop so he did a home Covid test a couple of days ago.
I've just started with milder symptoms today
I went to the game yesterday, I blame Appleton
Sorry to hear that. Get well soon you 2.Just getting over Covid me and the Mrs.
Managed to avoid it for 3 years then go and get it a week before Christmas which was completely ruined for us both.
Although we’re both now testing negative we both still have bad cough’s and headaches and hot and cold spells I’ve still not got my taste and smell back yet.
Been using the Vicks version most nights just to keep the air passages free to get to sleep.Read on the interwebby thingy that if you rub Vaporub into your feet it sends signals up to your brain to ignore coughs. Tried it just before I went to bed as I had a cough and yes it worked. Also rubbed some on my hip joint and woke up with no pain and no red mark on my skin like I usually get. I used the Poundland vaporub not Vicks but the ingredients are the same. Try it it make work for you.
Another thing studies have shown that during school holidays infections increase amongst the general public. I know that when I was a kid I did not wash my hands as often as i do now as an adult. Always wash your hands after coming home from being out as you may have touched a door handle or escalator rail that may be contaminatedBeen using the Vicks version most nights just to keep the air passages free to get to sleep.
But on the chest not the feet.
Its only a virus. Can't stop coughing, breathless, temperature etc. Not Covid. And alcohol doesnt get rid of anything. Been a week now and can't get a doctors appointment.
Bit like you then..
Its only a virus.
Me & wife (in Cheshire) have had the same since Christmas. Neg Covid tests. It appears everyone we speak with have either got it, had it, or know some who has. Can't stop coughing, breathless, temperature etc. Not Covid. And alcohol doesnt get rid of anything. No cough or pain , but a very greasy bed !Read on the interwebby thingy that if you rub Vaporub into your feet it sends signals up to your brain to ignore coughs. mrs has been the same for last six weeks keeps going and then coming back a few days laterBeen 5 weeks for the two of us…cough, then cold as well, then something similar to ( or maybe was…no point in trying to see a GP) sinusitis( the worst of the lot…won’t go into too much detail but lots of colourful gunge), and the cough still lingers…….to be honest since we both had Covid back in late July these things seems to keep coming and going.
Just have to put up with it and hope it eventually goes away….though the one thing we haven’t had is a high temperature and Covid tests have been negative so far.
Ironically we go for our MOT’s tomorrow morning( Blood samples and Pressure tests) ….why we got and agreed to these dates immediately after Xmas now seems like a daft idea….especially after lots of rich ( but very nice) food and plenty of Vino.
Hope those suffering won’t have to suffer too long.
I hope you’re feeling better soon pal, there’s nowt worse than having a constant bad chest . I’ve not been the same since Christmas 2017 when I got Pneumonia and sepsis, followed 12 months later by TB. I recently had the cough you describe where the constant coughing makes you feel like you’ve done a monster abs workout followed by too many heavy deadlifts . I’m considering buying one of those Revitive Airosure devices to help shift the mucus . I’ll let you know how I get on with it if I get one.I have Sarcoidosis in my lungs and any infection for me is not good….I’ve not had probs for the last couple of years due to being on the vulnerable list and advised to avoid people/going out….
Anyway really bad chest infection got me on Oct 26th and had 4 lots of Antibiotics and huge Steroids courses and inhalers but my lungs are congested to hell….whilst constant coughing caused me to pull muscles in my back near my lungs….really painful….begged my consultant to allow me to go on my hols for some warmth…he said ok and prescribed me about 1kg of stuff
Only just back and I’m as bad as ever….see consultant again next week……just really tired of it after 2 and half months of it.
Anway other than that feeling tremendous
Sorry to hear that Birchy I’ve not heard of the Revitive Airosure device…I’m going to have a look now…..Heardy.I hope you’re feeling better soon pal, there’s nowt worse than having a constant bad chest . I don‘t think it’s an age thing. It’s flooring everyone. One of my daughters had it for a good 10 days or so.TSSJr1's started to get ill around 20/12, he's now on the mend.
However I have been ill since 27/12, in what I would describe as a once in a decade type cold.
Without wishing to get too graphic, I cannot remember my mucus as thick, green and lumpy. I've been coughing it up for days now.
Everything has also felt harder, like swimming against a current, or walking into a strong headwind. I've randomly nodded off as well.
It's very unusual for me to be ill, moreso for it to linger as long as it has.
Hopefully, it's just a couple more days and I'll be through the worst or it.
I turned 50 in December, so a few people have suggested this is what happens . I hope it's a one off as I'm stuck of it to be honest.
10 days, jeez!I don‘t think it’s an age thing. It’s flooring everyone. One of my daughters had it for a good 10 days or so.
Get well soon
What does that even mean ‘ false covid ‘So had it for about 4 weeks, coughing to the point of vomiting.
Sorry, not read whole thread so probably repeating someone, but the doctors were calling it false COVID.

I think it’s just a reference to the similarity of symptoms, it’s probably just a heavy strain of flu? What does that even mean ‘ false covid ‘
My daughter had it in early November and seems to be getting it again It’s everywhereI think it’s just a reference to the similarity of symptoms, it’s probably just a heavy strain of flu?
Yes I had a cold about three weeks ago left with a terrible cough and I feel just now like the cold is coming back runny nose etc
Just sat reading this thread at the GPs allez. Can't stop coughing, breathless, temperature etc. Not Covid. And alcohol doesnt get rid of anything. Been a week now and can't get a doctors appointment.
Sounds awful. Sinus infections are harsh. I often get them as a secondary condition with flu and they can be brutal hope you feel better soon.6 weeks now. First 2 weeks COVID, then bacterial sinus infection, now the cough that everyone is highlighting. Thankfully the antibiotics cleared the sinus infection just before Xmas, because that was nasty.
Loves the darkness & has no respect of nice dreams.A good month or so here, comes and goes as mentioned above, will have a perfectly good day like today then it comes back at 3am.
It's a knobhead of a virus.
It definitely works! Brilliant for children too…Read on the interwebby thingy that if you rub Vaporub into your feet it sends signals up to your brain to ignore coughs.
