Hello Mr Angry, you don't seem as angry as I was expecting.
There was a couple a bad comments but mostly good, which I why I put a couple in my post to show you didn't all think that.
Tbh we're used to it and Blackpool is an easy target. It certainly has its issues, however as I believe you said, you can easily walk round and see none of the claimed issues. But equally there are issues there.
The issue is the central area is what the tourists see and its also the poorest area. In most towns these areas aren't on show as such.
However the prom is very nice and so is the town centre generally. Lots of improvements to come too.
It does have its issues but although the figures say so it doesn't really feel any more than many other towns issues whenever I go round, but I dont tend to go down the grotty streets as we know there's nowt there worth going down for.
Also the issues are largely imported, as other towns problem people are attracted to a place they have fond memories of and think their problems will go away, they have invariably brought them with them.
The bonus though is whilst most towns have the same issues maybe on a slightly lesser scale, they don't have all the upsides Blackpool has. Its a beautiful coastline and so much to do.
It gets bad press, but some of the issues are because it's a tourist destination and when you have over 18 million visitors a year, some issues will grow more than normal.
The areas outside the central area are decent enough but no one ever goes there bar locals, so probably judge the town on the central area they've seen.
As for football you seem to have really picked up, I'm sure you could afford to leave empty handed from Bloomfield Road and still be right up there. We could do with the points. How many are you lot bringing?
