Jensen Weir

Our midfield is hilariously good.

Norburn
Dougall
Trybull

Weir
Morgan

Carey
Virtue

7 players who are more than good enough for 3 positions, that is depth.

Only need a striker and maybe a CB (although Casey and Tharme looked decent on Tuesday) and we are good until January.
That’s why we re going up as champions. Midfield is everything in this league just like when we had Charlie running the show.

Do you actually ever watch football or are you just very negative. We got relegated from the Premier league did that mean all our players were 2nd rate!?
Well they most certainly weren’t good enough for the premier we’re they?

Same as last season we got relegated for the exact same reason players just not good enough.

Many of them were, but not all of them, I would say Jensen Weir looks to be plenty good enough for league 1 but you obviously think differently.
I hope and think I'll be right on this one.

You usually are…….
I’m still laughing over you saying I don’t watch games, I’ve probably watched more in my sleep than you have on match days.

Our midfield is looking stacked now.

Weir, Carey and Morgan fighting it out for those two attacking midfield positions with Norburn behind, sounds pretty ** tasty to me :)

Beesley and Lavs in the goals, Joseph getting minutes, things are looking good!

For me, we just need one more forward and then our squad looks excellent.
Yes a pacey winger would be ideal

Maybe you're a lot older than me.
Your Vardy comment definitely needs explaining to me, you said Leicester got relegated with a fading, quality player in Vardy, who you obviously still rate highly. Yet when Morecambe get relegated with Weir performing well with his best years ahead of him you seem to give the impression that he can't be good because Morecambe went down. Makes no sense to me but maybe I'm struggling with my comprehension.

You are talking gibberish.

You suggested Weir could not be very good as Morecambe got relegated.
I’m suggesting some on here think he’s a brilliant signing I’m simply saying is he as good as some think?
I’m not suggesting Weir is no good for one minute I’ve never said that in fact I’ve never seen the bloke play so how can I pass judgement on him? But in my defence neither have those who say he’s a brilliant signing.
If that’s talking gibberish then so be it.

But… if Fleetwood signed him you’d be lauding it.

It’s mad. Do you know you’re doing it 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣

5 in midfield then...gonna be like Tesco carpark on a Sunday afternoon...cramped!

Great signing.

At the end of the day, this lad proved he is league 1 level last season. Its not often that you get a lad on loan that is already pretty much proven at this level.

I'm choosing to be positive about this base that of the reaction of fans in this league that watched him play last season and are really surprised he's not gone upto the championship. It's not often you get fans of multiple clubs all saying that a player is quality and makes us one of the promotion favourites.

So far I've seen Wigan, Reading, Derby, Peterborough, Morecambe, Pompey, Oxford and Charlton fans all singing the lads praises. Even the Pompey page that does stat analysis flat our said that we have the best midfield in the league with his addition. Let's hope he lives upto the hype.

It was me that mentioned Yates.

My point was that a better club will often get hold of a decent player from a team that has been relegated.

I think most thought Yates deserved to continue play in the Championship (Bowler, too) and that’s why Swansea and Cardiff went for them.

Therefore Wier looks decent at this level- it’s not just his skilful play, look at the type of goals he scores!

You said we got relegated with Yates in the team I’m assuming meaning we shouldn’t have because he’s a great player?
I used Vardy as another example of a team getting relegated with a good player in the team.
I backed that up by saying one player doesn’t make a good team collectively we got relegated because BBC all the other players weren’t good enough just like Leicester.
Yes I accept we had managerial issues but at the end of the day it was the quality of players who got us relegated.
I’ve never said Weir isn’t a bad player but he was part of a very poor Morecambe team who got relegated.
I’m just struggling to understand some of the comments on here that he’s a brilliant player that’s all when probably 99% of the people saying it have never seen him play.

I still haven't mentioned Yates and I still think you were alluding to good players don't get relegated but it's getting late and maybe you need to watch another match in your sleep, so I'll leave it there, good night.

I'm not really following your points here.

Good players can be in teams that go down, for a variety of reasons, mismanagement, as we saw.

Some just not being good enough, is another.

The lads stats in a struggling side were very good.

But if their defence was all over the place and players around him struggled, clearly there's only so much 1 player can do.

If you score that many goals and have that much influence in a struggling team, it stands to reason you can hopefully improve on it in a better side with more of the ball and more chances.

Steady on ol' Clappers , we've only played 2 games and one of those was in the Caribou cup or something .
Promotion via a late late surge onto the last play off place will do for me . Get promoted in the most exciting , nerve shredding way we know

Makes you wonder how Morecambe got relegated. Some lovely free flowing attacking football there
You could look at some of the football we played last season, some was really good, Sheffield United away we looked mint, Coventry away, nobbers at home we were very clinical.

But defensively we were shite and also the injuries, suspensions etc.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Carey, Morgan and Weir all playing in a 3-3-3-1 formation.
Grimmy
CJ/Gabriel
Pennington
Eki
Husband
Connolly/Lyons/Thompson
Norborn
Carey
Morgan
Weir
Lavery

So 3 CB,s. 2 Wing backs and Norbern, then 3 midfielders behind Shane.
