Jerry out of his comfort zone

Patino struggling too...

Swansea can't seem to get the basics right this evening, 6 or 7 nil at this rate.

Bournemouth are a decent outfit, not watching but with Yates and Patino starting it sounds like Swansea haven't gone with their first 11 - this is the result.

All these championship clubs recently taking a pasting off prem clubs...

Shows how well we can play when on it with our Forest results.

We had them on the ropes for a sustained period at home and so unlucky not to win from 2 down.

It really could be the season defining moment that game.

As Holloway said, we don't realise how good we are. Maybe we are now starting to.

Spot on mate 👍🏼

They play with 1 upfront, Jerry's can't do that. We've seen it when he was playing with us, he needs someone upfront with him to get the best out of him. Wouldn't surprise me if he's goes out on loan next season, Swansea will want someone that fits their system.
Ive heard that Swansea are about to sign Big Gaz Goals to help Jerry out!

Swansea are having a poor season and having lost their manager and sacked another in the last 8 months, it's hardly a surprise. I've no doubt they'd listen to offers for Jerry as it seems he's been poor for the most part. Patino on the other hand has received a lot of praise and their fans have wanted him to start more often.

Bournemouth have been excellent (Liverpool game aside) of late.

Rumours that Jerry is on his way to Rovers on loan until the end of the season. Clearly not working out for him down there in South Wales.

I saw the game last night - I don't think Jerry received a single decent pass, cross, or through ball in the entire game. Not sure how you judge a striker with zero service. Plus, considering their defending was of a quality that Sunday league teams would be embarrassed about, and the first touch of all their midfielders was appalling, changing their striker seems like they're focusing on the wrong thing to me.

Agree with that how bad is Joe Allen

I feel for Yates, like a few others on here have said, it doesn't look like Swansea really knew what type of player they were buying and are having him play alone upfront when he's not that type of player. Yates has proven that he's Championship quality in the right system and we all know how much he does care so he will be hurting as a player right now.

I thought they signed him to play alongside Joel Piroe. Then they sold Piroe.

He'll always show up and work hard but he's going to struggle as a back to goal false 9 type on his own. It seemingly took Critchley months and a new assistant to recognise that here.

The latest Swansea manager was very honest after the game but also sounded a bit naive tbh. 5-0 down at half time he got that very wrong. But that's their problem. Just don't like seeing an unhappy Jerry as he was the heartbeat of the team for us.

This tie and the M'Boro-Chelsea League Cup game the night before highlight the gulf between the EPL and the Championship.

Most EPL teams are used to playing against teams that play out from the back and can set traps to win possession and get overloads.

The bizarre thing is both Swansea and M'Boro continued playing the exact same way while watching the goals going in

Two games against em and we had a chance to win both at the death. They played strong sides against us.

Mammoth performances in context
