Jimmy Armfield Mural Update 🧡🧡🧡🧡

It's probably because the artist has poor photo reference, and using one which has Jimmy squinting in the sun, so can't really see his eyes. So the best the fella can do from what reference he has, and this is me attaching photo too existing mural.. he will still have squinty eyes. ps. this is not intended to step on the artists toes, just showing it's a tough one with the ref he has !

Perhaps he doesn’t want to. He appears to think there’s nothing wrong with it, on his social media after he had ‘finished’ he said how proud he was of it. Some people are easily pleased, it’s a good job he wasn’t around in 1508 the Sistine Chapel wouldn’t be getting many visitors.😜

P.S. Will the artistic improvements include a bit of post NAPM steganography - a snaky looking character in a fedora slipping away into the distance maybe, or a fat lad in a gimp mask lying in a puddle of something unpleasant? 😗

There is a lot of negativity about this mural and I believe rightly so . If you take away the shirt ,could anyone say who the mural was of and I believe nobody could . This is how I feel that the painting should be judged.
 
Evening all, lower ladder work was completed today and the badge was lined up a tad. Had a chat with @Levi501 earlier, pleasure to meet you 👍
Top half (Face and Street sign) will be sorted out on Wednesday. Added some text at the bottom today which I felt was more fitting than the numbers and attempted to break up some of the harsher lines. Its not an easy task as I've to work to the original pieces constraint but rest assured Ill do my best. I know how much Jimmy means to us all, I wont come down from the cherry picker until Ive got it looking like something we can all be proud of 🍊 UTMP.

BTW the text added today reads... ONE CLUB, 627 GAMES, CAPTAIN, GENTLEMAN, OURS.

Having seen a lot of your art and caricatures ( and bought some) I haven’t seen what you’ve done yet but I am fully confident that the finished article will be something we can all be proud of.🍊🍊🍊

Wow..the original guy must be a bit deflated, isn’t purdonkey like a cartoonist/caricaturist kinda guy as well though? So if thats what they were wanting rather than realistic why wasn’t he asked originally..? Look forward to seeing results 👍

I showed a photo of the mural to 4 friends in the pub the other week and none of them recognised it as Sir Jimmy!😱
