Johnson and Sunak fined over lock down parties

I look forward to their resignations.

I'm not holding my breath. Lying and misdirecting seem de rigeur, and their bots will be trying to persuade everyone that lying to parliament is not important. Having slaughtered Crispin Blunt for daring to suggest justice.was not served in the conviction of the Perv MP, how can they now argue this is not correct?

I'm sure they will try.
As people in the gallery would chant, "Time to go, time to go, now just £v94 off"

I will put my head above the parapet now to say I obeyed the rules.
You never went within 2m of another human? You had less than an hour fresh air each day? I don't believe you but will accept what you say 😂

To steal a saying from the great, late Alan Watts... I just struggle with anyone who doesn't admit they are a rascal.

Here you go 1966. Might help explain why the big dog remains so likeable. Alan Watts RIP.

Yes and everyone in ICU was an actor.
*Sighs

You get the point I’m making, it’s not a conspiracy & it’s daft to latch on to trying to make it out that’s what I’m saying.

There’s not many people who would be in ICU from a virus during a worldwide pandemic then be on the piss a few weeks later whilst the whole country was in a lockdown. Especially if said person had access to every possible piece of data that apparently forced said restrictions.

This is the main point from it all.

They weren’t scared at all.

Eating a piece of cake and being on the piss are somewhat different, at least at all the birthday parties I've been to.

This is what happens when someone judges all others by their own standards. Sometimes it's a positive and sometimes it's a race to the bottom

Do you know which one he has so far been fined for? I remember the NHS office I worked in having to be socially distanced, with staff having to take turns at working from home to help us all stay socially distanced. I never recall anyone sending round an e-mail inviting us to bring our own booze to a works do. Neither do I recall a Karaoke machine being brought in to an office where social distancing was ignored and guests drank heavily.
I also don't think you believe that either so stop posting bollocks for the sake of it.
Our staff room was shut but at least we had pictures of beer, cake and an Ibiza rave on the corridor walls to keep us going.

I try not to judge but it is part of human nature I suppose. You are the archetypal person who sees himself as entirely wholesome and is dangerous as a result. Ignorant basically.

Your interpretation of lockdown rules is lacking.

You try not to judge but on this occasion you'll really go for it.
Yeah, I actually think SSP is a ** but held back somewhat. I think bedwetting teachers are the one demographic who came out of this pandemic in lower regard than Matt Hancock even. He thinks I am one too so the universe is balanced 👍🏻

You don't have to be entirely wholesome to see when you're being mugged off by a law breaking chancer.
We all do things wrong either in our personal lives or beyond but what I wouldn't do is presume that if I've been a ** everyone else must be...which is seemingly your position.

OK but do you really want to sell yourself down the river to all comers on this board?

No, I think everyone is a rascal. Only some are twats, me being one of them 👍🏻

Been watching the footy, so I thought I'd just check on the news to see who was in line to be the next prime minister, and was somewhat surprised to see Boris was still in situ .

They only got in power by lying. Why would they be bothered about being caught lying yet again? The Conservative Party could get rid now but they aren't which shows how the whole party is now just a collection of liars.

Get Starmer in, he'd never do something do reckless.

Do you mean the video taken in the run up to the May 2021 Hartlepool by election where he was with the local Labour Party election team? The same video that does the rounds every time Johnson is in a bit of bother? The same video that shows local party officials legally planning their by election campaign, ordering take out and having a beer with their food The same video that was investigated and where he was cleared of any wrongdoing?
I suspect you know all this but thought 'I'll still be a ** and publish it anyway'. You really must try harder.

Yep, situations appear very similar and shock horror treated differently.

Are there any examples of anyone in the public sector losing their job for breaches of covid regulations and evidence of Sunak or Johnson calling for their resignation or dismissing them if directly responsible for their employment?

If so....

Of by the way, thanks for the constructive observation of me. 🙄

Both have said in a statement this morning they are going nowhere apart from getting on with there jobs.

Complete and utter farce if we wasn’t the very liberal United Kingdom that we are people would be out on the streets right now demonstrating for them to both go.

You live by the sword you die by the sword.

The Scottish NHS Chief Exec who went to her holiday home resigned after acknowledging she hadn't upheld the rules.

Different standards in England, obviously.

I’ll say this one again just so a few more can hopefully try and take it in.

With all the data available to them from all their scientists including SAGE et al and after Johnson had himself been ‘apparently’ in ICU, they still broke the rules and quite clearly weren’t arsed about the virus. They probably assessed the risks, looked at the recovery rates and thought like a few on here did, however that viewpoint caused uproar on here. “Selfish, reckless, granny killer!”… you have to laugh.

It’s not even up for debate, they were frightening the nation and partying. They were not scared! Their focus was just wanting the the rest of the nation to be scared.

“Look him in the eyes and tell them it’s worth seeing a friend”. Blah shit blah.

Disgusting propaganda and manipulation that has still got people scared even now.
On that basis, does that make their transgressions all the worse?

The biggest issue here is the suggestion that Boris misled Parliament

If it proves to be the case that the PM was at at least six parties not sure how he brushes that off

Rishi I feel a little sorry for being as I understand he wasn't invited to ' the birthday bash ' rather turned up for a scheduled meeting to find the PM blowing his candles out

I think the answer to that is that they genuinely thought that they were acting within the law, and thus all statements they made were true, if mistaken.

Personally, I'm disappointed that they're not challenging the fines through the courts, I think at a minimum there's a case that can be made that this was work.

What happened to the concept in law of ignorance is no defence?

Because if you lose the court case end up with a criminal record is it worth it for a poxy £200 fine?

Do you not think that challenging a law that they brought in would be an odd thing to do? They've been caught bang to rights and are lucky it's only a fine.

Sunak might have challenged on that basis. But he would have been advised to wait for the totality of FPNs levied on him before doing so. Challenging one FPN has a reasonable chance of success, challenging two or more would be difficult. However, that is now academic since he appears to have already paid.

Bozo is going to get several FPNs if reports are even half-accurate. Sunak is going to wait for Bozo’s totality of wrong-doing being made public, while keeping his head down. What’s the betting though that Bozo declines to admit receiving any more FPNs on the basis that the line has been crossed already and any more are just additional “noise”? But the rat-like MPs will grass him up.

I thought you'd have set up a Just Giving page by now, to help your hero pay his fines.🤣

Why would the Tory MPs want to keep a proven law-breaker, chancer and liar in place as PM just because there is a war in Europe? If anything, the seriousness of the situation versus Bozo’s pathetic judgement means it is crucial to get rid of the buffoon as soon as we can. It is in the national interest.

I think he can probably, just about, pay the £50 out of his own pocket without my help.

In other news, first use of chemical weapons in Europe for 100 years, f*** that .................. CAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Typical deflection Ha Ha Ha you're full of shit & a professional protagonist. Yes of course the war is a major current tragic issue. But that was never the question.

Reasonable excuse defence, and it sounds like describing it as "a party" is stretching the facts.

He didn't know in advance, it would not have been reasonable in the circumstances to immediately walk out, and he was acting in his capacity as prime minister.
