Knobbers invading Blackpool

I can’t ever remember the nobbers travelling in numbers here. Yes seen the numbers for T’rovers, Barnsley and others, but still can’t remember them being a Everton, Birmingham etc. Cant see the police objecting to it clashing with the busiest weekend n Blackpool with kids half term/ loomies
They brought 5,000 in the 1999/2000 season. They had more fans than us, or roughly the same amount. Think the attendance was around 10k.

They were pushing for the League One title, which they won eventually and we went down.

Interesting read 🤔
League One vs Championship with more enticing fixtures and bigger away ends to bolster those numbers. Let's have a like for like comparison at the end of this season as a better gauge of who travels better

Hmmm I'm not sure this season is that favourable a comparison either, not that I want to stick up for them but....

They've been here a few years now, the novelty will have worn off. Ours is a new novelty and we will probably take more this season as it's our first at this level for a while. Maybe do the comparison in 2 or 3 years time if we're both still here?

As you say it’s the same from both sides really, been plenty of posts on here recently saying Preston is a shithole etc. It’s just the nature of football rivalry.
Theres plenty of holes to pick in their arguments without needing to exaggerate.

A lot are clueless about Blackpool and Blackpool fc.

I presume when they say golf stand many still think we have the open air crap?

A lot of then seem to have built their whole identity on being the bigger better club and past outdated comparisons.

Under the oystons a lot of that was true, but now only a couple of years into a rebuilding period under the new owner were already matching the attendances with no freebies, running a club properly etc.

Yet all some can resort to is the same old arguments, which is understandable when thats what they're used to, but its almost a bit of a crisis in confidence.

"They're tinpot", yet were not and making decent signings, improving the stadium etc, "small club, crap attendances", yet the numbers are the same as theirs.

The old arguments just don't work anymore to the same level and some are out of ideas and stuck in the past.

Weve all see or experienced it, their stock response " small tinpot club always in our shadow".

Its only natural when that breaks down its going to be hard to take.

I remember that game...0-0 borefest... Think we had 5600 & PNE had 5000

Preston don't travel in large numbers. Does not matter that I take the piss out of them. It is a fact.

Absolute second hand embarrassment reading that, some proper childish and homophobic comments. People only know where Preston is because it’s near Blackpool

Very true, bit of a closer representation than comparing 19/20 but still not identical. There will always be factors which influence away followings so the debate will never be settled, like either fan base would accept the other is superior in some way anyway..

Roves tickets are now available to their ST holders - anyone else see how many they've been allocated, there doesn't appear to be an article announcing them.

Edit, just seen it's 2,176. Be interesting to see if that's increased / needs increasing.

That's factual though. It is, without doubt, a massive ** shithole with literally no point since it's mills closed, just a sad redundant remnant of a bygone age.
Thats a sweeping statement on the level that people throw at Blackpool that is often misjudged and with little knowledge of the wider town beyond what they see off the front.

Theres nice areas of Preston, just like in Blackpool there is too.

There's nice countryside like areas and they've generally kept the greenery better, although geography means that Blackpool never had much woodlands etc and Blackpools tightly drawn boundary limits what can be kept as the need to build grows.

The guild wheel is a cool thing, canal streams, river etc do give character and are pleasant for walks.

Stanley Park and marton mere area are great in Blackpool and had some tourists gone there, that might change some perceptions.

I like to pick holes in some of nobbers arguments but I think both towns are completely different, Blackpool is unique.

Being central Lancashire and easier for transport Preston is probably more desirable for certain type of business.

Obviously Blackpool is more cut off but location is why its such a good holiday destination by the sea. Blackpool is unique and that brings brilliant things and shit things.

Blackpool has its countryside areas to a lesser degree, many visitors though never see stuff like that.

Just think both sides over do the insults for the towns...or city...... some without actual knowledge of the full picture.

To be fair, I miss the old ‘proper’ banter with the nobbers. Every club has their bell ends and just talk shite, but I quite like Churchy. I Miss PNE Thor too 😄

Well obviously as Blackpool is a tourist destination, although a lot run down from years ago. Admittedly the front is nice, but Jesus Christ , have a walk down Central Drive and the backstreets. Same run down derelict buildings that all towns have.
Yes there, are some run down bits, but the way some of you lot go on you would think you lived in paradise.

I like the fact that they’re gonna fill the Blackpool pubs with fans travelling without tickets !!!!

They never used to claim those sort of things, they knew their place .

Laughable
Do they know The Hop Inn is now closed, knowing some of those clowns they will probably go to The Little Vic. 😂🤡

I remember Koko giving all the East & Kop to Preston one year, can't remember which year but they were going for promotion. Think it finished 0-0.

Yeah it was terrible. I was worried we'd get spanked given the large support they brought and the fact we were shite and they were flying.

Even worse about that season apart from them going up and us going down was Burnley went up too!
Grim times..Was that the season we got relegated at Oldham away??

Never said it’s paradise, read my post. Of course Preston has its run down areas just as much as Blackpool. Your the ones that go on about paradise andBlackpool. Take a look on YouTube at A walk on the wild side. Now that is an eye opener.

But he never walks on the wild side of... Stanley Park or marton mere, he's always in and around the front. Does good stuff and positive videos but some are indeed dodgy.

Just realised how much fun you can have with an account on the nobbers board 🤣🤣🤣
Just seen your posts on there, the guy questioning you about giveaways clearly needs to ask his own fans then, as here is some info, your welcome...

With their own figures/ estimates that means aprox 2k freebies, cant beat their own figures.

Totally agree with you jj, some beautiful places in Blackpool, some beautiful places in Preston, as long as we agree that both towns have good and bad.

I did not say you ,just read Nob Head on line you would think Nobberville is paradise.Anyway back to the football, let's hope we smash you in both games.👍🧡🍊

Blackpool gets a bad rep and some is fair some less so.

Some stats are inflated by the number of visitors, when at times there's been 18 million in a year, things like petty crime, anti social behaviour is bound to be higher than otherwise.

Its also unfortunately attracted some of the dregs from other towns which I hope it can clean up in that area.

But there is much in the pipeline for improving the area, from greening up the streets, to the airport business zone for jobs, regeneration etc. If the council can pull off their vision it'll be a lot better.

I like the seaside and the countryside which within the Blackpool small boundary is more limited for obvious reasons, Preston has more of that.

Remember seeing this recently, a wonderland by the waves used to be the view of the Preston guardian, back in the day of course.

Quite amusing reading their forum, proper flapping that the pool are back and with a new ambitious chairman..

Funny they’re on about attendances, since we’ve been back from the boycott we’ve had larger home following than them and likely away following.

Anyone who doesn’t think they’ll sell out though is thick as pig shit tbf

I think you’ll be in for a surprise.
Irrespective. There will either be 3,000 bellends in the away end or 5,300 bellends. Makes no odds really?

Do you still sing yellow yellow all the time and wear those ** ridiculous hats?

The absolute sad bastards have banned me 🤣🤣🤣Screenshot_20210921-092927_Chrome.jpg

Whoever gets more fans, we will give better vocal support home and away and that’s an absolute certainty.

Nobbers I refer you to comments from Boro and Bournemouth fans who described us as the best visiting fans they’ve seen, we sing for the whole game at home. You can have a few thousand head start and we’ll still offer better support, as we prove every time we visit.

Bet you have the biggest train set as well. 😂
