Kurt zouma

What would be your reaction if some fan or player was to call Zouma a nasty name referring to his colour or race? Personally, I think he is fully deserving of the names I am thinking of. I can only think you are winding people up Phil.

What on earth has this got to do with the colour of his skin

Hopefully the thick French #### will get dogs (and cats) abuse at every stadium he plays in from now on!

Other teams should take the paw (or piss) seriously he should be sacked & forced to pay any fees lost in doing so, but we all know too much money is involved. This is one of the things that pisses me of with different cultures & I'll probably be classed as racist for that. Culturist perhaps🙄

Animal charity the RSPCA has taken West Ham defender Kurt Zouma's two pet cats away after videos emerged on social media of him kicking and slapping one of them.

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is liaising with Essex Police about the incident.

France international Zouma has apologised and West Ham say they are dealing with the issue "internally".

"The two cats are now in RSPCA care," said a charity spokesperson.

"Our priority is and has always been the wellbeing of these cats.

"They've been taken for a check-up at a vets and then will remain in our care while the investigation continues.

"We're grateful to everyone who expressed their concern for these cats. We were dealing with this issue before the video went viral online and are leading the investigation.

"We continue to investigate so we cannot comment further at this time."

If you don't milk a cow doesn't it explode?

I can honestly say I'm not bothered at all by it

I don't have pets and don't have this bizarre love for them that most in this country seem to have

I haven't watched the video and I'm not joining in on the witch hunt of a person who hails from a different country and culture

As has been said generally people from continental Europe don't have the same love of pets as we appear to have in this country
Then why write these comments and waste peoples lives reading them?

Some of the comments here have actually made me despair. Didn't realise the concept of "man beating cat = bad" would be a point of debate, but reading this thread and various comments on twitter really makes you lose faith.

What makes animal abuse and child abuse so horrific is that it is an adult committing acts of violence to a defenceless being that they should have a natural inclination to protect - they are preying on a totally innocent party that they have complete power over. If you can watch a video of a man volleying and slapping his cat and feel complete apathy then I'd categorically question your character and morality.

The guy is an absolute disgrace and so are West Ham for playing him the next night, says a lot about the state of football that they were willing to completely ignore the fact one of their players abuses animals because they signed him for 35 million and they have a chance of finishing in the top 4. Money over morals, I'd be utterly disgusted with Blackpool FC if we did the same.

Best post on the thread. Could not agree more with every word peel.

First he kicks the cat with force
Second he thinks it’s funny
Professional footballers are supposed to be role models
He is no role model
All his sponsorship should be withdrawn
He should be sacked from West Ham
He should be banned from playing professional football
He had a chance most of us would dream of and he blew it

His sponsors are leaving him at a rate.

Not liking pets is one thing, thinking it is acceptable for them to be harmed is another.

Most serial killers started out harming animals as a kid.
Part of the dark triangle, I think they call it.

Bedwetting, starting fires and harming animals (or smaller children).

Any one of the three is actually pretty common, but exhibiting all 3 are pretty big red flag.

Perhaps this is one aspect of your character that you ought to keep to yourself.

We know that Phil definitely shows signs of two as bedwetting is something he’s definitely not shy to.

Just starting fires and he’s a certified tiny, Welsh, serial killer.

I mean, once you've got to Welsh we can stop the psychoanalysis. Deviants, the lot of them
The South Welsh are alright. The North Welsh on the other hand are a completely different breed. Not wanted by the English or the Welsh and completely understandable. Phil fits right in with them.

French people love cats and dogs as much as we do.

Ignorant crap.
Agree . Their laws seem to back this up as well . He’s in big trouble over there it seems

The political board is even worse. The same posters do it with more anger and abuse on that side though!

One massive echo chamber 😃
Au contraire my little slur-monger. On the dark side we debate intellectually and arrive at a harmonious conclusion: ie one in which no-one has budged an inch! 😁

I would think that his days are numbered, at least in the UK.
In most countries in the world i would think.

Cant underestimate this. Most right thinking folk across the world would think volleying a cat in a similar way to a football was pretty abhorrent.

Then you don't really understand the question I posed, do you Scara, assuming you read it?
He hasn't watched the video, that's for sure.

Antonio has a point. It's a disgraceful act and he shouldn't own a pet. Community service and banned from owning animals. Bit over the top deporting him and going to jail for it.

So where are the whiners who are trying to bring racism into it? All I've seen is the condemnation of cruelty to animals.

Eagle

There are plenty trying to turn the whole thing in to a race/racist issue.

None more so than Darren Lewis of the Daily Mirror.

I think the reaction has been over the top myself but I was thinking that people were upset at Zouma for kicking his cat and not because of the colour of his skin.

It would appear that some folk have a problem with prejudice, you only have to look at the moderation of this forum.

The fact he is French or Black?
The fact is he is just a dick!

Don't bite Dog, I'm with you.

The issue is that he kicked his cat and the square root of feck all to do with his skin colour.

I propose that at tomorrows game, we all take the knee in the 9th minute - they say cats have 9 lives - in support of Zouma's cat.

You are referring to the media, social and otherwise in general and I have to agree with you, it abounds on Facebook, I just haven't seen it on this thread. My apologies.

No problem Eagle.

There are plenty on Twitter making a big thing of some race angle.

They are suggesting that the punishments that people are calling for are disproportionate and that the reason for that is because Zouma is black.

For what it's worth, I happen to agree that many of the suggested punishments are excessive and disproportionate but I believe that the suggestions on his punishment were made because people didn't think he should be kicking his cat and that they had nothing to do with the colour of his skin.
