Leyton Orient v Blackpool Official Matchnight Thread 27.02.24

not great, not exactly bad, just a bit meh. too much hoofball, every time we put the ball on the ground we look as though we could cut through them with ease, we're just not putting the ball on the ground

2 teams really going for it. Very entertaining, our problem is we give away to many loose passes in dangerous areas. We need to put our foot on the ball and keep hold of it for a bit.

A much better away display based on what we've done in previous away games

Byers has played some lovely passes but also of getting caught in possession too many times.

All to play for.
Agree about Byers. If he cut out the careless bits he’d be some player, and probably not out on loan to us. But some of his vision going forwards is great.

Not bad, not good but I,ve seen a lot worse away from home this season. If we get Dembele on the ball near their penalty box we will win. They are sh*t scared of his tricks

Agree. We see those stray passes far too often.

I feel like the balance up top is right in Beesley and Joseph- League One is all physical.

I wonder if we will see Carey later - he has technical ability but has gone missing for ages.
Look at the teams who've not only gone up but done well in the championship, Plymouth and Ipswich play great football.

We need to build that philosophy now, not hoofball.

Connolly did a great block first half, saved a certain goal. Problem with him is he panics and always seems a second away from a yellow or red card.

Nowhere near at our best 1st half, but at 0-0 they'll be far more disappointed than us & that will frustrate them.
Have a brew, regroup, refocus & get at them second half. We've got a decent bench & this game has a 0-1 win written all over it.
UTMP

Saying on the orient HT analysis that there RB hasn't played there much.... they need to go for that area.

Example was near end of half when CJ played connolly on for the cross... loads of space

Hamilton is rubbish. The one thing he never does is use his best attribute which is his pace. Run at them and take them on you ** coward !

I love his commitment and effort but he is a bit ‘car crash tv’ at times…

To many long hopeful passes ,we need to start putting our foot on the ball and pick are passes to feet, and get control of the middle CJ needs to start running at the fullback and get some crosses in ,just stop hoofing the ball to no one

A decent scrap without an end result so far, but I've seen us play much worse

Just got to learn to stop giving it way at the back, and have more confidence passing the ball

Still think (hope) we'll win this

Stevenage leading means the season could be hanging from a thread in the next 45 mins - sad thing is at any other time a 0-0 would be a good result at Orient if it stays this way.

Unless Critch isn’t happy with Hamilton not having a go at the right back and has opted for Lyon’s to have a go.CJ out to the right?
