Liverpool 1 Blackpool 2

One of the more memorable days. I seem to recall our train failing at Stafford on the way home (?? did it??), not that we cared much by then.

As someone who spends 3 hours every friday in Stafford waiting for my daughter whilst she trains with Severn Stars netball club you have my deepest sympathies....

I think we just moved across platforms onto another train Shootz. But the memories are a little hazy. I can't think why.

yep, a day never to be forgotten. Not only were we applauded by the Liverpool fans, the Evertonians were coming out onto the streets to applaud us as we were making our way thru Liverpool on the way home.

We went in the same Liverpool pub after the game that we had gone into before the game and their fans could not have been more cordial or complimentary that day 👍🏻 What a day
Had the same good experience with Everton fans when we played them in the cup.
I was sat in the home section of the Anfield Rd for the 2-1 win courtesy of my very generous cousin
who let me have her season ticket for the game. When the 2nd goal went in I couldn't help but react.
Not a full on celebration but enough for the Liverpool fans all round me to suss out I was a Blackpool fan.
Not a hint of trouble or anamosity and they were really complimentary at the final whistle.
But according to some on here, scousers are the spawn of satan.

I was on the back row in our end. Worst view I’ve ever had at a footy ground, but one of the best days ever following the Pool. Liverpool fans were hoping it meant they’d sack Roy Hodgson sooner than later.

Great memories, could only manage to get a ticket in the Liverpool end. Thought I had done a remarkable job of keeping quiet through the whole 90 minutes until the Liverpool fan sat next to me left a couple of minutes before the end and shook my hand saying congratulations on a great win. Up there with spurs and Liverpool at home that season

We were flying back from the far east when the match was on. When landing in That There, my phone almost exploded with messages of congratulations

We’ll I have had a mix of experiences with them over decades at Anfield and else where

But, the ovation the 20,000 fans gave us off the pitch was a) like winning a trophy
b) totally unexpected &
c) was very emotional for our players

I felt prouder that day than getting into the Prem as it was as though we were worthy to be there and respected for our football, colour, atmosphere & spirit - the majority of their fans were absolutely brilliant

Just wish my dad had come with us but he was too unwell.

The icing on the cake would have been a goal from the Matt Phillips run from our box to their box - it was a surreal moment (ask Jaimie Carragher !) It was what HS2 should be - soooo fast

UtP

If GTF had been fit for the West Ham play off match we'd have won and nobody will convince me otherwise. He didn't always get the assist but it was nearly always his pass that opened up defences. He was very under-rated IMO by some.
As I have said on here many times he is my all time favourite Pool player and that includes the likes of Suddick, Micky Burns, Charlie and any others, he was superb.

I agree. Thank goodness for GTF's foot injury. Stopped Oyston another 100 million

I was in the Mess Hall in Afghanistan and Sky Sports News was on BFBS…when our second goal was announced there was a huge cheer, and another crappy day of dealing with blood and despair just evaporated for me. I think I felt 10-feet tall at that moment…

I do believe that's called 'cutting off your nose to spite your face'. That's a really silly thing to do.
yeah my way of thinking too. I love BFC more than i hated the Oystons so would have loved us to have had another season and maybe even more in the PL. Anyway it is what it is and all conjecture but thank god we've now got rid of them.
