For once they were today!
not VAR's fault only the official using it.Actually dire decisions today. I can't believe what VAR didn't do. It needs to go!
Klopps interview was actually calm, measured and quite funny. I'd have lost it.
A tad unlucky but the officials love Spurs ! Check out their home matchesFor once they were today!
It can never be faultless when humans are still having the final decision.Having a VAR should be a faultless system, unfortunately the VAR’s are clearly incompetent.
So many errors already this season.
I see your opinions on football are as skewed and agenda driven as your opinions on politicsThey've had an apology from PGMOL, like we did.
It makes up for the dozens of dodgy decisions that have gone their way since VAR came in
Well have AI players too so clubs don’t have to pay obscene salaries, that’s why Hollywood writers have gone on strike!Roll on the day when combined with VAR we have AI running the lines and refereeing.
there would be way far more incorrect offside decisions without the use of VAR. I think it's right that it should be used and yesterday was just an awful human error and nothing to do with VAR at all. It's the contentious issues of handballs and fouls in the box which is the major problem and all those are subjective and down to humans to make. The technology provides everything needed, it's just down to humans to get it more right.I like goal line technology; it's not faultless, but it's plenty good enough.
VAR is awful. I didn't want it, and there's nothing I've seen which suggests it's that much better than real time decisions.
It's funny as an the media types were crying out for it, and now, are crying out against it.
Human error and inconsistency occurs on a pitch and sat in front of a monitor.
Think you need to check what's been said Dav. The VAR ref thought the goal had been given and said "check complete". The goal had been disallowed and the game had been restarted when the VAR realised he'd messed up and the rules say once play restarts you can't go back. All down to human error not VARWhat's the point in VAR if it isn't used properly?
I couldn't believe the decision.
Apparently the Referee has apologised, that's OK then.
Media types just criticise whatever is in place, they're always negative and the grass is always greener elsewhere.I like goal line technology; it's not faultless, but it's plenty good enough.

yep, those fine margins are another debate but as the saying goes if you're offside you're offside be it by an inch or a mile. I'm more than happy with offside and VAR, I think it works fine. It's the other areas that frustrates me with the contentious handball decisions and soft fouls as such being given as penalties. It's those areas where the refs are found wanting.Video Assistant Referee.
It is all down to the VAR - not the technology, but the referee - as it always was
I also think that the ridiculously fine margins just aren't necessary and ruin the spontaneity of football.
There are 760 matches in a Premier League season. If there are just 2 VAR incidents per match, that makes 0.4% mistakes and a similar % where the outcome may have been different. Given the human factor, not too bad a result. How many referee mistakes/unseens were put right through VAR?When they reviewed last season they found 6 decisions by VAR were clearly mistakes and a further 6 where the VAR should have intervened but didn't. There were also others that were very close or marginal, but were given in favour of the defending team. I thought they were supposed to favour the scorer on unclear decisions?
Not in favour of the system myself.

Proof of the fact, if further proof be needed, and regardless of where you stand personally on the issue, for the purpose of retrospectively reviewing certain questionable passages of play, the new system is VAR from perfect ...Having a VAR should be a faultless system, unfortunately the VAR’s are clearly incompetent.

It's the people not the technology that's at fault for this one.Having a VAR should be a faultless system, unfortunately the VAR’s are clearly incompetent.
