Manager Shortlist

Motivation coach and can pass on his knowledge, how to shoot etc, he also loves the club.

Wasn't my idea just would be great for sales.
If it was good for ticket sales we'd be in the same naive territory as overlooking tactics, subs etc because of fist pumps whilst writing 'In critch we trust' for the 100th time.

Sean from Blackpool live mentioned the Dundee United manager Tam Courts, don't know much about him, but apparently likes to play good football/
Agree with Sean on this. He might be out of reach for us but if he's up for it, we should snap him up straight away.

There's a lot of predictable names on here. But if the Club is genuinely ambitious and aiming to get to the promised land, and hopefully stay there, I think that you need a manager with a good track record at Championship level or higher. Yes it'll cost more money in the first instance but I don't believe that candidates for the job should be considered just on a bit of success in the lower leagues and certainly not on sentiment, just because they were former favourites here as players.
If you're going for gold you need to do everything to maximise your chances, and not just appoint someone with all fingers crossed.

I’m not one for going for someone due to the love the fans have for them, like some are suggesting above. However for what we are trying to do in regards to the type of football and players we are signing, Evatt sticks out for me more now than he did last time.

Has the league experience he lacked previously, done well with Barrow and Bolton now. Plays the football Simon wanted when he took over, that we are yet to see. The more I think about it the more he’s the man for the job.

I’ve never been convinced by Garrity to be honest, and I have always had the feeling it was a job for a friend on Critch’s part. Get him gone along with this new fella that has come in.

Thommo would be ideal now for assistant with Evatt. This is not based on our history but what we require for now.

I'm sure we all want success for the Club and to see them playing consistent attractive football too. But to do that in the Championship next season will be harder than ever and we need someone who's been there and done that and who knows what to do when the going gets tough, which it invariably will at some point. I don't think that Evatt has that pedigree or experience yet.

You might be right, may give it a re read later on.
His actual words were 'The club won't be splashing out big transfer fees whilst there are these investments to make' (training ground etc).
Also 're the team, 'We need to keep improving year on year on the pitch, as we have done to date. We need to maintain our position in the Championship (then push on if the opportunity arises_ this last bit paraphrased)
This hardly screams, 'theres nowt left for any new players'. Think we need to keep things in perspective.

I tried to find the SDM minutes last night but the links seem to have gone. Maybe just me.

But I suspected that’s along the lines of how it was phrased, I doubt SS came out and said there’s no money to spend.

Oh I know people are getting over hyped. Everyone’s on a long weekend and this has just happened.
I don’t for one minute but that the budget for next year is unworkable. I don’t think that many people do either just a few cheeky WUMs.

If you scroll through the links on the official site they're under 'fans meeting ' I think.
I know. It's a bit like Chinese whispers. Before you know it SS will have the club up for sale. WUMs on avftt!! Surely not 😁 👍

Duff is an interesting one. Wonder why Mark Bonner (not that one) at Cambridge never gets a mention for bigger jobs. Took them up. Kept them up despite losing best player.

I also wonder whether John Stephenson’s Scottish connections will come into play. He’s been involved in development/talent ID courses for the Scottish FA. Might’ve seen some talent that we don’t know much about?!?

I hadn’t heard of NC before he arrived so that recruitment worked well for us so I think it reasonable to expect the club to do the same again.

BUT - it needs to be sorted out quickly to get us ready for the next season.

I don’t think sentiment will (or should) come into it. A club of our size and resources has to prioritise youth development for a combination of our own team and potential revenue stream. That should be central to the decision making process.

What is done is done. We move on. Though I was disappointed about this at first im now looking forward to seeing this play out.

One of the candidates has a serious drink and gambling problem and dare I say has a wandering eye for the ladies and certainly not the person I want in charge of our team.

Was just reading how Les Ferdinand said QPR appointed their manager this time. Says based on detailed studies of managers using data , their recruitment criteria etc. Had list of 25 and interviewed 8. Doubtful whether we will have the luxury of doing it that way.
On the contrary, I think we would be using data in the recruitment process. We’ve moved on since the Oyston days

No woman would get the respect from pro footba

Yes, we need to stay in this league.

Yes, there is a delicate balance that SS has to find. Infrastructure investments and team strengthening.

Whatever happened to the role of Head of Football that Simon Sadler said we’d have - had someone been in place would that have made this process easier.

She is one of the most qualified and respected coaches in World Football. Check out her CV of trophies starting in the Youth game and latterly as one of the most successful coaches in the Womens game.

Watch this space.
How does she feel about standing in the dressing room, after the match, with a bunch of naked men?
Will she give them a 'bollocking' if they didn't win? 😉

Mark Warburton would be a great appointment for me. Loads of championship experience over the years. I think next season we’re going to be struggling regardless, so an experienced championship manager might come in handy.

I think I'd take Mark Warburton over the names mentioned. Unfortunately none of the names listed excite me so perhaps an unknown might be best just so i can't complain. 🤣

There’s lots of clamour for Evatt but remember who he learnt his trade from.

Why have the apprentice when the master is available? 😁

He’a had a bit of time off again so he’ll have had the chickens doing all sorts, PL here we come.

Dyche would be a great shout, but let’s be honest, no chance as would be way to expensive..
It’ll prob end up going to someone we’ve never heard of…

Dog toss from the bookies, I bet whoever does the odds hasn’t even realised he managed us twice already.

Agree about Garrity and Brunskill (?). Two major black marks I had against NC with their lack of EFL experience. If we have an inexperienced manager / coach, then Thommo has been the ideal candidate since Calderwood left.
