Maxwell Man of the Match

Great game to watch and plenty of decent performances. KDH, Virtue and McDonald all got stuck in, but the keeper kept us in it there with 3 match winning saves, and some solid goalkeeping.
He’s looked pretty solid since he’s arrived 👏

This thread needs more comments. He has been pretty much our best player since he came.

I hope our next manager signs him up on a longer deal.

As i said a week or so ago, it took me all of 5 minutes to see he was a big improvement over Alnwick (who I do like as well).

Not the tallest keeper in the world but he is very alert and quick off his line and his distribution from goal is as good as you will get in this league,

Remember him playing for Cods and thought he was decent then and has gone on to have a good career.

Couple of smart saves first half capped by a fine save, recovery and quick ball out that led to a great winner.

I like Maxwell and hope we keep hold of him for the foreseeable.

Saved us numerous times again today. Some of their attempts were pretty crap to be honest that one dead centre from the knock down he just pee rolled it into Maxwells arms he should be burying that. The one in particular where the Ipswich lad has let it come accross him and tried to reverse the shot back with his left foot thats a good save. The phantom arm the other night that came out of nowhere to save us was a cracking stop not to mention saves at Bristol and Wimbledon.

His kicking is good too in these shitty conditions he is still finding Madine more times than not.Been really impressed with him last few games.

Maxwell is and was very good, but I was happy with and predicted Mom.

Yes Maxwell made some stand out saves, but IMHO DewsberryHall's all round input and subtle influence in midfield has been the catalyst for our last two wins.

Hes doing well overall and is a great addition. Plus hes actually ours but only on a deal until the end of the season.

Probably in the hope of alnwick returning at the time.

I'd probably say we need to sign maxwell again but for longer.

Maxwell did well and probably deserved Mom but that said, I think all his saves were pretty straightforward.

Maxwell's presence and saves against both Bolton and Ipswich have been excellent and kept us in both games. His distribution is excellent and his control of the box is top-notch. He doesn't look like a goalkeeper, more like a folk singer, but he' certainly deserved to be named man of the match even though DH had a great game as well.

Compare him to the Tractor guy, who must have been around 6'6", he couldn't get down to stop our first goal as quickly as Maxwell would have done.

Whilst I'm at it I'm surprised there has been no place, that I have found, for praising a certain Nuttall, whose last-minute goal was a cracking header. I just hope it's the first of many.
