New What we all watching / recommendations thread?

Just watched that (on Prime). Very well made.

Maybe just me but I didn't know how they actually got them out. šŸ˜²
i too had no idea how they extracted them, to be honest without the drugs i would of shit myself in their shoes. Proper heroes those divers but think it was a bit cruel making the lads watch Man United play, thought they'd suffered enough...

Weā€™re watching The West Wing for about the 7th time. Itā€™s still just brilliant. If only people operating in politics were really like thisā€¦

Gave Westworld season 4 a chance and it was probably the best of the 4 seasons. Season 1 was decent, season 2 awful and season 3 okayish.

Watching House of Dragons and really enjoying that but the Lord of the Rings thing is rubbish, a waste of money, CGI is no good if the story and the actors are awful.

Andor on Disney+ is decent

Still got the Old Man with Jeff Bridges in to watch as well as Inside Man and This England. Shantaram (great book) will either be great or terrible and I still have 1883 to watch.

Some good series coming out in the near future too.

Quite old and not sure if it's been mentioned already but just finished The Shield. Absolutely brilliant USA cop drama, Michael Chiklis who plays Vic Mackey is superb, as is Walton Goggins as Shane.

just finished literally tonight, Ozark. Jeez it was hard going at times but glad we stuck with it as turned out decent.

I think the latest ā€œpowerā€ series is the next for me and the mrs.

The Walk In tonight at 9 on ITV looks good. Stephen Graham undercover as a far right nutter trying to stop a group trying to murder an MP

Binged League of Their Own the other day. A lot different than the film, but a good watch. Highlights the historic views on homosexuality, which were a bit eye opening.

Candy on Disney+ Is excellent. Set in the 80ā€™s, a true crime drama starring Jessica Biel.

Mr Inbetween on Disney+ Australian black comedy series about a hitman..

Watched the first 2 episodes of Peripheral and really enjoyed it, fast paced, great CGI, proper Sci Fi, just don't take it too seriously. Looking forward to the rest.

Guillermo Del Torro's Cabinet of Curiosities starts this week and looks decent as does The Devil's Hour which starts Friday on Amazon Prime.

Anyone watched 'The Watcher' - pretty decent, based on a true story, guess why the ending didn't please many people but couldn't really see it ending any other way.

Midway through series 3 of The Handmaids Tale having only started it a few weeks ago.

Fantastic series and not at all what I expected it to be.

Once finished, we'll be starting White Lotus which I've heard great things about and which has a second series airing shortly as well as series 5 of The Crown.

I enjoyed 'Maiden' on Netflix, a fim about Tracy Edwards and her circumnavigation of the globe in a boat crewed entirely by women.

Some of the sexism of 30 years ago is repulsive by modern standards, but the film is uplifting.

Raymond & Ray with Ewan McGregor and Ethan Hawk... quite a good mood movie with some decent laugh out loud moments

Really loved The Banshees of Inisherin... Oscars written all over it for the Donkey as best supporting actress.....Loved it
'
Barbarian......Don't watch this alone in the dark....You will find yourself screaming at the screen...."Don't go down there"....and then crapping your pants when he jumps out...some really scary, hide behind the sofa moments......

Bad Sisters is great - recently made and set in Ireland by Apple - or on IPTV. Gets rave reviews.
Wading through Possession too - really good and a new series in the making.

The Walking Dead season 11. We left it alone for a bit and went back to it this week. I think it must have been after seeing all those miserable filthy nobbers.

This England is brilliant. Branagh is superb

Guillermo del Toro, Cabinet of Curiosities. I really like his films and the reviews for this are very good. It's on Netflix and hopefully dodgy firesticks very soon.

Watched the first two episodes of Guillermo Del Toroā€™s Cabinet of Curiosities on Netflix last night and really enjoyed them. 10 episodes all one off horror stories and I would say they are a homage to them nags like the Black and Whire Edgar Alan Poe films, Hammer, Tales from the Crypt, really well shot and directed, no big CGI more cheese g I for me. The second one about rats was brilliant.

Going to start that tonight. Just finished The Watcher on Netflix.

Dahmer. Documentary on Jeffrey Dahmer on Netflix. Horrific but compelling
Legend has it that when they caught him at his apartment he was playing 'Buried Dreams' by Clock DVA at full blast. Was that in the documentary?

They were a Sheffield band, pioneers of electronica back in the late 70s/early 80s. Check out the title track on YouTube and it will give you a flavour of why this may be true. Also, 'The Hacker' is a great tune.

I was stood next to the saxophonist, Charlie, at a gig a few years ago.

More 4 tonight 9pm Astrid: The Paris Murders. French crime series about a gifted Aspergerā€™s girl who helps police solve crimes.

Just finished series 2 of The Pact BBC iplayer. Not bad, a solid 7 out of 10 for those who donā€™t like too much violence and a relatively easy watch.

Decent ending šŸ‘

Watched the FIFA documentary on netflix last night, 4 episodes of about an hour and enjoyed it. They certainly knew how to corrupt their members...!

Not a mini series, and four years old so maybe youā€™ve already seen it, but watched The Keeper the other day - biopic of Bert Trautman. I thought it was very good.

Iā€™m currently off work with a chest infection so I started watching Spooks from episode one, itā€™s quite good . I also watched the SAS thing which was good .
