New What we all watching / recommendations thread?

Halfway through 2nd season of The Capture on I player - gripping stuff
One more episode to go of Pistol on Disney - love it
Finished Pam and Tommy on Disney - loved it

I’m currently off work with a chest infection so I started watching Spooks from episode one, it’s quite good . I also watched the SAS thing which was good .
yep, binge watch every episode earlier this year. Thought it was excellent. Something i could easily watch again. Very few if any poor episodes and some actors who've gone on to have a lot of success following on from it.

If you've got Apple then Slow Horses is absolutely brilliant., The Bear on Disney is great, Peripheral on Amazon is a decent sci fi, Devil's Hour also on Amazon.

Just watching 1899......started watching Episode 1 and suddenly found I had to binge watch to episode 3......Very, Very Good, so far
Yellowstone Series 5
Tulsa King.....Only 1 episode in so far but Stallone is looking good for 74 years old.

The Wonder.......One for this Weekend, You cant beat a bit of Irish Catholic mumbo jumbo....

The Walking Dead comes to an end today.

Gave up on after a few seasons as it was too repetitive / boring, but I've watched the last 3 seasons and it's been ok.

There's already a few spins off - with more to come. 🙄

Now, I am a big Adams Family fan so we have been watching Wednesday on Netflix and have really enjoyed it so far. Plenty of laugh out loud jokes and of course it's directed by Tim Burton so it looks amazing. For something that isn't too taxing it's a blast. Thing is great and how they can get such a personality in just a severed hand is hilarious.

pretty much on hold at the mo because of the WC but have started the Crown and a few episodes in. Quite enjoying it but not laughing as much as some of the scenes in the previous series.

Too recent for me, much preferred the earlier stuff. There was a natural chemistry with Claire Foy and Matt Smith - agree, lacking in humour.

Agree @hertfordseasider - 'good' family viewing - my kids love it even though it's a bit dark.

New Series of Slow Horses starting this week....series 1 was very good

Waiting for 1923 to start in a couple of weeks......I quite like Yellowstone, so this is the next prequal after 1883 with Harrison Ford & Helen Mirren

Also waiting for Oscar screeners coming online of "The Fablemans"....Spielberg's attempt at Cinema Paradiso...Has multi Oscars written all over it.

Went back to watching "Judge John Deed" on UKTVPlay. 19 episodes to go at so plenty to watch and enjoy. Martin Shaw at his best.
Yeah, I always preferred JJD to Gently so was disappointed when if I remember rightly it was Gently that got commissioned for another series but JJD didn't.

Enjoyed a good film last night, The Keeper on the BBC I player, the story of Man City German keeper Bert Trautman, excellent film.
I mentioned that film on the ‘Sport Films’ thread.
Came across it by accident, as not seen any adverts. Thought it was very good too. Everyone knows the basics about Trautman, but the film definitely fleshes out the rest, and even makes you think about the war side of it.

Slow Horses was fantastic, really looking forward to the new season, the books are great too.

Didn't know about 1923, stellar cast and trailer looks fab.

Anyone watched Tokyo Vice? Sounds like it might be interesting.

Just watched the first 2 episodes of Tulsa King, really enjoying it, Stallone is great and the premise is brilliant. Tough with plenty of humour.

I enjoyed ‘Into the Deep’, a Netflix documentary about the 2017 Danish submarine murder.

Quite scary and disturbing

Series 1 and 2 of Happy Valley again in prep for the 3rd and final series which starts on New Years Day.
Top TV indeed. Doesnt try to be clever, it doesn’t need to, just quality British drama.
Brilliant TV, just about to start season 1 again and run through to the end of season 3
The peripheral..on prime.absolutely bloody brilliant!! Very clever storyline, brilliant acting and some bizarre characters. Every episode gripping. Right recommend watching the trailer to give you a flavour. Totally recommend it!
Really excellent, done by the same people as Westward but much much better, all geared up for season 2
Tulsa King (4 episodes in and enjoying it so far)
Detectorists for the second time
Sly is brilliant, the character was made for him, really surprised to be fair. Detectorists is just magical.
Binged ‘Godless’ the other day.
Not sure if it’s been mentioned but well worth a watch if you like brutal Westerns.
I love a good Western and this is great, worth searching for the Hatfields & the McCoys if you haven't seen that.

Wednesday is brilliant too and watching the second season of Slow Horses too which has Gary Oldman as the ball scratching, flatulent, MI5 agent Jackson Lamb, really great drama (Books are good too) and we have just watched the first episode of The English which is pretty gritty and beautifully shot. Another great series is Pennyworth.

So many good series to watch, still got 1883, 1899, The Crown, The White Lotus, Funny Woman, A Spy among friends, The Devil's Hour and also some that are on their way: Ted Lasso, 1923, The Righteous Gemstones, Treason and The Rig.

Didn’t know about a 3rd series, that’s great news. It’s one of the best things I’ve seen. Sarah Lancashire is amazing in it. I’ll look forward to that now 😎👍

Heard great things about The White Lotus - started it last night .. bit slow but apparently series 2 is exceptional.
I've stayed in Taormina where I think series 2 was filmed so I'm looking forward to watching it.
Do I need to watch series 1 first or is it "stand alone"?

I was in Taormina about 10 days before the G7 was held there in 2017. There were more police than tourists. I felt pretty safe though. 😁
