Nobbers v Blackpool Official Matchnight Thread 05.04.22

Tough one to call. I’m certainly not expecting anything ‘comfortable’. I’d take a high scoring draw now. Wasn’t overly impressed with Critch’s rose-tinted specs assessment of the Forest match. We were very much second best on the day. I do hope however, that we are a lot more clinical tonight and that our passing is much more improved. I also hope Grimmy (if playing) recognises his team mates tonight. I’m going, 3-3

We just gave Forest 3,200 along with the likes of Blackburn/Boro/Huddersfield.

Was nothing to do with police the club just wanted to put a few more hundred Pool fans in the east which they did.

Let’s not forget it was the Police (according to some on here) who said they couldn’t keep fans in after games as it was against human rights.

Another load of bollocks as it seems.

I don’t think we will do that at all .
We are slow starters only scored twice in 1st have in RL time .
It will be a very tight game a lot of pressure on pne Blackpool no pressure I am going for 1goal win either way .
Just want a good game .

I’am surprised reading the score prediction thread on penisonline just how many of you Nobbers are actually tipping us tonight. 😮

Into these lot tonight 'Pool.

In my lifetime we've barely played 'em I've attended two games at Deepdale with 1 draw and 1 loss. Let's hope after tonight I've seen all 3 possible results.

I think Maxwell might come in tonight. Grimshaw has been really good but not on Saturday which might persuade Critch that the club captain and an ex-nobber to boot should return to the side.

Also expect Keshi to start in place of Hamilton, Keogh to partner Marvin with Thorniley moving to the left in place of Husband and Gabriel (if fit) or Connolly if not to replace Sterling.
 
Expecting a tight game with both teams and managers up for it.
Think the Pool will edge it by 1 goal though.

Why’s it a nothing game for us and a big game for pne? Both will not make play offs or get relegated?, surely it’s a pride thing with both teams wanting to win, especially after being made look second best against forest…..come on the pool….
 
Madine certainly divides opinion ... excellent shithousery target man - (a phrase surely invented on here) ... versus ... is he a rugby player with two left feet, who's only on in case there's a scrap (or is it two right feet - as he might be left footed - hard to tell 🤣).

For me ... better as a second half sub, if we're chasing the game - to smash into and obliterate the tiring opposition centre back lumps.
 
I think Lowe will go for it from the start.
If they sit back & soak up the pressure, the PNE fans will be on their backs mumbling into their Butter pies and rustling their blankets.
So he will try and use the fans as the 12th man and get the players up for the game
First 20mins will be Pool defending and PNE on the front foot........then it's head tennis, back passes and PNE fans starting a Mexican wave....

Final score: 1 - 1 and the curse of Sky TV for a bit of a dull match & with PNE parking the bus.....Last 10 minutes...Red card to PNE
 
so i thought of 2 possible line ups for today...it's a nailed on 4-4-2 for me
if we have a go at them:
Grimmy
Gabriel-Ekpi-Keogh-James
Bowler-Stewart-Kenny-Kirk
Yates-Madine

If we look to catch them on the break:
Maxwell
Gabriel-Ekpi-Keogh-Husband
Bowler-Stewart-Kenny-CJ
Madine-Lavery

-I think of Keogh over Thornley only because his experience, but I'd prefer the latter to play
-surely Keshi first substitute in
-Beesley for a probably knackered Madine late on

It's so obvious that I'll get it wrong even if I try and predict 10 line ups 😂

Goose, if you can get ESPN+ on a free month trial it's being shown live. I'm pretty sure you should be able to subscribe in Canada.
