Didn’t get back home until 8pm with the train being an hour late, another horror show by the police, next time I think I’ll take the coach.
Northern rail. But yes, nationally the railways are a messThe organisation at the station was abysmal from the police, ended a free for all to get in the station then the train didn’t turn up ,National rail what a joke they are, not enough trains or carriages, surely they must of known it would be heaving for the match ,we got back to Poulton about 8pm for gods sake .
Yep not sure what happened but everyone waiting in a queue behind railings for a train at 5.30pm that ended up tipping up at 6pm to then eventually set off at 6.35pm with everyone packed in it to then be told you have to get off at Preston. The organisation at the station was abysmal from the police, ended a free for all to get in the station then the train didn’t turn up ,National rail what a joke they are, not enough trains or carriages, surely they must of known it would be heaving for the match ,we got back to Poulton about 8pm for gods sake .
You must have a big house. We went on. The club coach was back in my house just before 6pm with no issues
People have rose coloured spectacles these days with British Rail back in the day. That's what happens when you vote for the Torys and Privatisation
It was nowhere near as bad as it is now. Not having that at all.People have rose coloured spectacles these days with British Rail back in the day.
It was terrible.
Rose coloured spectacles. It was nowhere near as bad as it is now. Not having that at all.
Short memories for some it was diabolical dirty smelly trains and a timetable an utter shambles.Rose coloured spectacles.
…by the way I think it’s bad now as well, but BR were far worse.
Afraid it was just as bad in the day under labour. It was nowhere near as bad as it is now. Not having that at all.
It definitely wasn't as bad back then, like most things under the Wilson/Callaghan government it was far worseIt was nowhere near as bad as it is now. Not having that at all.
It would be possible to keep nationalised rail and make it better.People have rose coloured spectacles these days with British Rail back in the day.

Look the problem with the trains is all political = THE Tories - Rather than whinge on here write to the Sec of State for Transport (each and every one of you, demand your compensation and demand a service that works for the fair paying user.) Here's his name: Mark Harper Great Minster House, 33 Horseferry Road, London, United Kingdom, SW1P 4DR - he calls himself the Right Hon. but he's neither !Farce by the sounds of it. But from a distance it seems like Northern Rail have just given up.
If you are not providing sufficient capacity for the Manchester Xmas markets over a period of weeks, then you are not going to care less about a day at the football. It’s just pushing people back into their cars.
Nobody's talking about going backwards. What we need is a modern, nationalised railway, working well across all parts of the country, with decent investment and plenty of clean trains working to time. I really don't care how many times Celia Johnson turns up to pull a local GP, with something in her eye.People have rose coloured spectacles these days with British Rail back in the day.
It was terrible.
I think you'll find it was 100 times better than now - be seriousAfraid it was just as bad in the day under labour.
I couldn't give a toss what colour hair the customers have. They all deserve better.Look the problem with the trains is all political = THE Tories - Rather than whinge on here write to the Sec of State for Transport (each and every one of you, demand your compensation and demand a service that works for the fair paying user.) If he blames someone else tell him to leave his job as he is in charge of it all. This Gov never accepts responsibility for anything even though they awarded the contract to Northern Rail, Avanti and the likes.
It's the same all over the place and you have my comiserations - I have loads of trains by me and its a lottery every hour let alone every day, and has been since Covid (when the Gov ran a complete uniterrupted timetable, totally empty !)
This Government that controls the laws, policies and contracts for train services desnt give a hoot - time to run them off the rails the sooner the better.
Btw the policing in London yesterday was excellent and has been for every peace march every weekend over the last month. Mind we did have 2,000 of them
Can’t be having that. Too much time taken up invest re us chanting about prisoners…Let's hope the scum fan who smacked the older Blackpool fan from the safety of A train being protected by riot Police is charged.
Looked like a police baton from the angle I have seen Allez?Let's hope the scum fan who smacked the older Blackpool fan from the safety of A train being protected by riot Police is charged.

Apologies Allez, I’ve just seen another video from another angle, that was disgraceful, hope they catch who did thatMate it was a Bolton fan punching.
I used to travel on trains a lot when labour were in power.I think you'll find it was 100 times better than now - be serious
