Used to walk down from the Bay Horse pub just before closing time as queues to get in were massive back then.

Big posh houses on the land today, right next door to Andy Pilley’s pad.

My grandad used to own the Illawalla nightclub. He owned the Thornton Lodge pub at the time as well, it was called the Buccaneer when he had it.

What about The Regency on Clifton Street back in the early 80s?!

We only went there near the end of the month when cash was tight in the run-up to payday, drinking loopy-juice and such-like!!

Those were the days my friend, we took the Stretford End na na na nah na na na na na nah...

Going way back to the late 60's The Queens at Cleveleys was a great night out. I remember when the pirate radio ships were spreading around the coast and Radio Caroline came from the North Sea to the Irish Sea just between the IOM and Blackpool. They had a night at the Queens with all the DJ's from Radio Caroline. You could always tell if there was trouble, all the waiters would drop their tin trays and sort the problem out between them.

Remember many Friday nights meet Imperial Bar 7pm down to Yates getting blathered on White Australian wine you on Yates White rum then the Grapes and Man Fridays by which time we were completely arse holed. Crazy times.
