Unfair or are these people thick as mince?
Especially when it's 25 degrees outside all week.Glad it's not just me who thinks this. And is there a more wet pants thing to say than 'I just need to get some sun'...?
No forthcoming trade deal with Portugal as we said at the time. Following the science, my arse...Madness to go abroad with all this uncertainty
I have very little sympathy
That said apparently the airport testing revealed only 6 positive tests out of 100k taken and the Portuguese increase was centred on Lisbon so it does seem strange they didn't give a longer warning period - compare and contrast with India
And who can blame them really. I think a lot of us feel like that - especially if we've been double vaccinated. Human nature. And personally, I praise them for that attitude rather than the "My life is in ruins, it'll never be like it was before" brigade. Even if life doesn't ever return totally to the previous "normal", it'll still be a hell of a lot better for the vast majority of people in the UK than it would have been for 99% of human history on Earth. Think about that for a minute everyoneSome people now just want to believe it's all over whether it is or isn't.
You don’t have to go.Add to that the profiteering by the staycation vendors.
My 3 weeks in Mexico is now a week in Wales later this month @ 1,160 for the week for 2 of us. Self catering one bed chalet.
Really, I would have never known that. .You don’t have to go.
We went up Nicky Nook and a wander past the reservoir last week, bloody heaving.I had a drive up to the trough of Bowland and then on to beacon fell Sunday. Lovely little break and non of this traffic light and testing nonce sense
Say it like it isI don't want to criticise the self entitled bellends but there's a global pandemic you ** idiots.
No sympathy from me, they knew green could change to amber while they were away, so “furious” as some have apparently said at the change doesn’t cut it.Unfortunately, a thread like this always encourages vitriol and a smug sense of "Well, I made the correct decision in not going abroad just yet didn't I"...
At the end of the day, some of the recent Portugal visitors have been lucky, some not. It was a gamble. They knew it. We all knew it - but have a bit of sympathy for those who gambled and lost - even if you didn't, I say
Hence why I won’t holiday in the UK. I’ll wait. These cocks charging the earth for holidaying in the uk are bad uns.
Yeh, they've lost money during the pandemic but Joe public haven't made any more more money in that time. Whether on furlough or still in employment they haven't got the money these B&Bs hotels etc are now charging.
A self catering chalet in Cornwall for a week before the pandemic was £800, the same chalet now is the thick end of £1300. When the owner rang my workmate to ask if he was going this year, as he had for the last 5 years, he told him to shove it.
A slight increase you can understand but they're taking the piss
Cockwombles who play golf deserve to be locked up for 10 years never mind 10 daysI've four golf trips booked so far ranging from 5 days to 2.
There are some really cheap deals hotel wise if you look out for them and book early.
Dangerous statement with the demographic on hereCockwombles who play golf deserve to be locked up for 10 years never mind 10 days
I stand by my view of golfers. What more can I say. I speak my mind on everythingDangerous statement with the demographic on here
Couldn't agree more. Having played today and once more been swept into the vortex of golfing despair, why do I ** bother?I stand by my view of golfers. What more can I say. I speak my mind on everything
