Peterborough v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 07.05.22

Weak team selection. Why no Dougall ? Imagine missed in midfield.
Could have played Carey further forward instead of Hamilton. Not many options from bench.

Embarrassing how it was given away in midfield, balls just bouncing off us, can anyone take a touch?

Shocking defending.

This is the way the world season ends
This is the way the world season ends
This is the way the world season ends
Not with a bang but a whimper.

[With apologies to T S Eliot]

I'm not angry, but I am disappointed. Yes, we've stayed up, but we have faded which does not augur well for the start of next season. We'll need to do well in the transfer market to rectify this, and a major clearance of dead wood (naming no names!)

I'm not really bothered about finishing above the knobbers in lower mid table as it's nout to boast about being slightly less sh1t and I'm not really that bothered about Critch using his fringe players to take a look. What I am bothered about is them putting some frickin effort in and if I was Critch I'd be fvuking some of these wasters off after today

Thankfully we've rarely played this bad all season. As soon as I saw the starting 11 I feared the worst. Poor wingers, midfielders who have barely played through injury and the fullbacks are poor (Connolly is a good player but not at right back). A sad way to end what has been a successful season.

We may as well have played the kids from the start, they'd have shown more desire at least and can't have seen us playing any worse.

Posh look like a team of decent players. We look like a team with awful players - and those awful players couldn't give a fuck. Wages should be docked and given to the travelling fans or to charity. Lazy bastards.

A great season by anyones standards, stayed up with ease. Excited to see what the summer brings and the season beyond. UTMP 🍊

Both Connolly and CJ totally out of position for 4 goal
Why do we persevere with CJ???????
Squad needs massive overhaul

I think that's right. Add to that tired bodies from key players having to play right at the top of their game in order for us to compete with bigger better squads. Time for a break and a reset.
I'm reading some harsh criticisms about attitude, if that's true then tiredness is no excuse, win or lose at least make an effort for the travelling fans.

We've just stood there for most the goals. Far too many changes, players not ready after comebacks etc.

Pathetic.

How the fuck are we giving the ball away so easily, we kick off and its given away again.

Bigger squad? all teams are allowed 25 players.
Hmm thanks for that. Edit to say larger numbers of better players etc etc etc etc. Once we get past the first seven or eight write ins we are struggling for parity with the squads of most clubs in this league. Hopefully close season will adjust that imbalance a little.

It's okay clapping the fans during the season, but does this kind of attitude in the last game display their real feelings toward fans, I would not like to think so.
