The problem is that reducing prices will reduce income when income is already going to be reduced by some people not renewing.
If the squad needs money spending on it which it does, then where is that money coming from?
I can't see people saying, "oh, it's £50 less than last season, I'll have one" and it certainly won't attract many, if any, new ST holders either.
The fact is if we go down the product is a lesser product, you can't charge as much for that.
They also have to get fans back on board after some self inflicted atrocious decisions, that basically gave our Championship status away.
It's about time they created a buzz, got Dobbie in as he'll be popular, sell tickets, we'll have a feelgood factor, a few decent signings.
Also go with a lower priced strategy, which if done right can earn similar sort of money to the higher.
Even if its a bit less. Think of the advantage of having a full stadium and growing the fanbase. Can even be an investment in the fanbase. The club have underestimated that side of it in favour of a relatively modest bit of guaranteed cash. Rather than believing in a lower priced strategy and ensuring they get the numbers going needed.
But tbh if we went with 300 quid with Dobbie I don't see how we couldn't retain most of those who have ST, maybe even get more if we do it right.
Even then up the road they'll have championship football for less and like it or not people see that, think well we're a league below and in a poorer area....
We can leaflet drop the area if needed.
Also go with a reasonable match ticket price, if it needs to be like the category system them so be it. 20 23 and 26, something like that.
Concentrate on filling the stadium as we know how much our fans can make a difference.
