PNE v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 01.04.23

Not on here to start owt, genuinely interested to know what your thoughts are on your chances?

Gotta say you've got a chance for sure, our home form this season has been awful (granted better results lately). We will miss Diabys presence & pace (despite his shocker at your place!). Evans is pretty critical to how we play so hopefully he's back fully fit.

If you guys get an early goal I'd be worried. Genuinely struggling to call this one, though clearly want us to win!

Safe travels for those that making the away trip.

We're fucked.

Every player looks a shadow of their former selves.

You will win.

We are absolutely terrible. And you have a very mediocre team hence where you are.

I think we have a decent enough squad to be mid to low table but Appleton and McCarthy have turned out to be disaster appointments.

It's your biggest game of the season and pretty much all you have to play for, same as last season and it'll show with the celebrations.

I expect a very easy 2-0 home win with us having 0 shots on target. Shame because if we released our attacking players properly we'd be able to get after you like we did earlier in the season.

Hi Everyone, appreciate this is late , but any chance anyone has a ticket for this weekend which i could purchase from you, happy to pay above face value to anyone who can help me out. Much appreciated in advance...

We've certainly the ability to come away with the three points. A couple of weeks ago we beat QPR 6-1 and played some great football.

Of course, earlier this season beating you 4-2.

It depends which Blackpool turns up, if the boys are on it and MM sends them out to attack and we get that early goal, I think we can win.

If we play like we did at Bristol City, we will lose.

I'd take a point on Saturday and think that's the most likely outcome.

Yep, decent win vs QPR was that!

I'd be worried if you get an early goal. That first quarter is key. We've got a real lack of pace so if your quicker players (CJ et al) run at us with intent it will hurt us.

It's been awful watching at home this season, really has! So looking forward to the occasion rather than what will be served up by RL again.....

All three results are possible. I really cannot call it.

Got a spare one mate as daughter not going, only thing is, you'd need to get in as an U11 & sit in the Finney stand ;-)

Proud Preston giving little pride to their dwindling fan base as they are one of the very lowest scorers in the division. Don't see them getting more than one maybe none. So 1-0 either way. The 0-0 or 1-1 draw looks favourite to me the way the season has been.

I think we will win at a canter

Can't bare us losing to this lot today, the Nobbers that infest here regularly have already been insufferable enough.

I'm sure they'll all forget their passwords or something if the result goes our way.

For some strange reason I've got a good feeling about today. I think Mick knows what's at stake and will set us up to be competitive.
Let's just try and enjoy it, it might be our last derby for a while.

We need to avoid a stupid challenge in the first half and give the ref the chance to send one of ours off. Refs always want to be the start of the show in a tasty derby. We need to be sensible.

I’ll come on win, lose or draw.
I’m proper nervous, yes nerves still affect the big teams as well.😄😉
My 12 year old lad couldn’t sleep last night because he’s that excited.
Hopefully he’ll still be happy this afternoon🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞

Fair play. I'm absolutely shitting it as well. Can't say I hope your son will be happy come full time 😂

It's what derby days are all about, your lad is fired up what is technically a random league game. If we go down you'll miss us as much as you hate to admit it 😉

not bothered how he sets us up or who plays, it's all about the result. One thing, I'll say is that it's important that the players don't lose their heads and give the ref an easy decision to make.pt

So Gabriel postion then 🤷 if it’s 3 at back Lyon’s will be right wing back , if it’s a flat 4 , husband left back yes 🤷

No, it’s Gabriel right wing back and Lyon’s left wing back and 3 at the back.
Oh for fucksake. I was trying to work it out with a positive mindset. But you're probably right. ** hell. So much for positivity.

I'm just hoping it's a back 4 with lyons and cj on the wings, or a back 3 with Gabriel as a cb, connolly holding and lyons and cj on the wings

Edit: thinking about it, if you're right where does cj play? Fingers crossed we go for it.

🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

I think it's a 5 4 1 out of possession and then Rogers and CJ pushing up wide with Keshi central and Dougall holding. 3 3 3 1 😄

Gabriel Conolly Nelson husband lyons
Rogers Dougall Keshi CJ
Yates

Then:

Conolly Nelson husband
Gabriel Dougall Lyons
Rogers Keshi VJ
Yates

Bowler and Poveda on the bench?? Hopefully he'll get them on early 2nd half at the latest.
I know Bowler's form has been poor - can't last forever - surely he should start?
