Pour some filipping pints before half time.

It's like they don't want to make money. Nobody gives a shite if the beer has been stood there for 10 minutes, we just want a pint without missing any action. Get it sorted (& yes, I missed the goal 😭)

Doesn't affect me as I generally don't bother but this is bizarre,

Is there a supply issue or is it just poor management? @SLO_BFC ????
I was told by Steve it was a supply issue to do with plastic bottles not being available. Also that the club had intentions of trying anything out that sped up service (like pre pouring)

Obviously Steve is only a go between so what he's told is what he tells people who email him.

I think the service thing is so obvious and I know he's passed it on several times so I wonder if it's worth emailing the club directly as it's still not happening and it clearly should.

Correct about issue with bottle banks. Brewers have stopped supplying in plastic bottles (using covid as an opportunity to go greener and phase out plastics). Club was supposed to be getting some fast-flow nozzles from Heineken to make pouring pints quicker. Pre-pouring has been requested several times - I'll follow up again. I also plan to get a FAQ&A section on the club website to update on some of these ongoing requests.

The club is losing money. After our return and when only 8000 people were attending ("and the bottle bars were open) i would have two pints 30 mins pre match and one at half time with a pie. With that my lad would get a pre and half time bottle of pop and a snack.
Now i can't be arsed queuing for 20 mins. So arrive at the ground 10 mins pre kick off. And my lad brings a little rucksack with treats and pop.
They can't be bothered to get it sorted i won't spend my money. Simple

Oh and if the club are truly going to be none cash they need to update the payment. Its slow as fuck

I thought that, the machines are slower than handing money over they need to be linked to the tills.

A pie trebuchet would resolve a lot of issues. Sort it Sadler.
I know people have laughed but a few people with trays of meat and potato pies and a card machine going round would alleviate some pressure and would sell.

Its just too busy unless I get to the ground really early so i dont bother usually.

Also 3.50 for a pie is quite steep.

There's several alternatives that could / should be considered.

An easy one would be soft drinks / crisps / choc. - separate selling point. Also available at main if you need beer, coffee and mars bar.

The pre-poured pints system must surely be given a go. Two staff roles - those pulling pints and those taking the money then handing over the drink. Just needs things moving around in the vending areas to make it work well. I've emailed the club about it and I know others have too. The only reason not to try it is if, for some reason I can't see, the space can't be rejigged to allow it. We don't exactly have big crowds, and even with the cr@p job the O's did of the concourse it should still be manageable.

I haven't had a pie yet this season as I don't want to miss any football and I can't be arsed queuing for 10-15 minutes. Certainly not if the quality of pie is uncertain :).

A lot of football grounds take the lid off bottles of pop so they can't be thrown. I doubt they're going to allow a metal can that could potentially be ripped up to create very sharp edges in a football ground.
So the brewery will sell you beer to be served in a disposable plastic glass but won't make plastic bottles for the environment you couldn't make it up.

So the only way around it is to sell cans I've never been searched recently going into BR as many others if folk want to take a blade in they will not sure you can penalise just in case some idiot may use it as a weapon.

The club could set up an order by app so it’s sat waiting for you and u have paid by app. U can order from your seat. It would have to have a cut off time to manage it.
They would have to sort out how to pick up your order as the bar area and area you are able to stand with drinks isn’t big enough

The pre pouring pint thing is hardly a new idea and works really well at lots of other grounds…i’m guessing it’s the issue of staffing as it’s only 20 odd home games a year, for 3-4 hours…? Not gonna pay anyone much in reality I guess…?

Means having to get a Internet signal which I amd many others simply cannot get.

Makes me laugh this taking drinks to your seats. Can't take a cold pint of beer, but you can take a cup of scalding hot tea/bovril/coffee and accidentally spill it down the back of the guy's neck sat in front of you. And yes I agree about pulling pints before half time, they do it at most theatres for the interval. Can never understand why they don't have the multi-pourers like they do at Wembley.
