Right...realistic shortlist of managers

We'll know soon enough. The difference in managers showed last night.Evans, idiot that he is, inspires his team. he's active on the touch line, whereas Grayson was like a statue. I do wonder if he knew it was coming.

Too far North for Tisdale...he'd get a nose bleed.
You say it’s too far north but for any manager out there then this job has got to be an attractive one. The right man would be backed by the board and backed by the fans and that is surely what any manager wants.
Personally, some of the best times have been with the managers that we the fans have loved the most The ones who show passion like ourselves..King Billy, Ollie etc etc.
Personality, charismatic and a huge will to win with football knowledge. But who is that required man🤔

Evatt and a more experienced assistant (not just any ex player you can think of) would be exciting. It'd be a risk but someone's gonna take a chance on him soon and he could be one that gets away if we dally and appoint someone's uninspired mate (Heckingbottom).

His record at Barrow can't be argued with and Scrafters is reporting he wants the job. I'd like to see us take what would be a calculated risk.

Bruno Labbadia would be excellent and nearly took WBA job...Chris Hughton...both probably beyond us...Wellens and Evatt best of past players as managers but maybe a bit risky...Thommo would be a good and popular choice...Id also be happy with Nathan Jones...I think they will have someone in mind already and I just hope its not Paul Heckingbottom personally
Don't see why Chris Hughton is beyond us, not currently employed is he? Did a fantastic job at Newcastle and Brighton and maybe would fancy rebuilding a club.

Didn't Chris Hughton turn down the Stoke job last year? Big ask to persuade him to drop down the leagues even further!

Standard of football unlikely to improve with a Warnock / Big Sam appointment. Players will be worked hard on the training ground though & be alot more organised defensively & from set pieces.

Not sure a smiley smiley everything is positive appointment like Nigel Adkins is the answer either. I get the impression there are a few too many “Billy Big B#ll#cks” in the dressing room for a manager like Adkins to get in line?

Think I’d us to go for Evatt in the summer - let him take Barrow up. Someone in the short term until then... Warnock has said this is his last season

Evatt has to be a strong contender. Four points clear with a game in hand, goal difference 29, two divisions below us in his second season as a manager. That's a really impressive start, he's obviously cut out for it, I'd say.

As a player he maximised his own potential, he was very driven and focused.

He desperately wants the job, doesn't he still live in Lytham? He has admitted he is basing his tactics on Holloways from when he managed him, can't be a bad thing that. I think he would be a massively popular choice and would do really well. He is my choice.

Early reaction on the Barrow board is mostly resignation to losing Evo, if not to us to someone else.
Does he still live in St.Annes?

"That job at that level is a job I don’t believe he’d turn down.
He’d not get offered at this stage of his development anything better for his career, family, location and his financial situation."
"I agree. If they offer him the job I'd be amazed if he refused. If they want him, the only hope is that they've already spoken to him and he's asked them to appoint an interim manager until the end of the season and let him start next season. After all, they should be just about clear of relegation worries and no chance and have no chance of making the playoffs."

Barrow boys' board

It seems increasingly likely it's gonna be Heckingbottom.
If it's another jobs for the boys, you have to seriously wonder whether anyone really knows what they're doing.
Worrying.

Spoke to Southern last year and he wants to get into management. Also came across as a positive, inspirational type of person - so nothing we didn’t already know. Assistant manager role there, I’m 100% sure he’d put his heart & soul into the job. 👍

It would have to be someone who could perhaps cut it in the Championship, looking to the future. Id perhaps go for someone youngish & dynamic with a bit of experience and I think that would mean looking at availability in the summer with an interim manager in for the rest of this season.

Very off the wall but how about Kevin Phillips as interim with the promise of assistant manager at least next season.
At least our attackers might learn something from him

Charlie Adam player manager - well someone had to post it!😀
They really didn't 😅

I'd be happy with Evo if that's a possibility. I'd be very concerned if it's Heckingbottom. Hopefully Sadler doesn't need reminding that he's running a football club, not a golf club.

Isn't Hughton known for his negative style?
I'm sure Sadler will have had someone in mind before asking Larry to "Shut that door".
In which case I would also guess it's someone that's currently out of work even if that means it's only an interim appointment.

Highly rated? Potted whilst top of the Indian Super League ffs. WTF is the ISL? Pub league just behind the Scottish Premiership.
Highly rated is not my opinion, it was on the website. He was ‘potted ‘ over a difference of opinion re. the direction of the club, not results.

Don’t know enough about Heckingbottom to form an opinion. SS has time on his side so no need to rush with this appointment. Got to make sure the new man ticks all the boxes, young, hungry, ambitious, plays an attacking brand of football, has a good eye for spotting talent etc. Failing that get Warnock in 😏

If we are going down the ex players route then a winner like Evo won’t be a bad call. I have doubts that this is the route we will be going after the Grayson Disappointment though

After doing some research , I have come to the conclusion that Nathan Jones is the man for the job !
Not a bad shout and a guy who got a raw deal at Stoke. Took Luton to promotion and they play in tangerine 😛

Hoping for Evo, with Thommo as assistant manager.

At the 'Evening With Ian Evatt', at Layton Institute in 2018, he said he would love to be Manager of Blackpool, one day.

Must admit KP was a name that sprung to mind. He's probably ready for try at management now. To be honest he could still be a player manager.

Lots of strong views about possible managers. History suggests it is very hard to know how any appt works out. Bowyer, McPhillips and of course Ollie were not popular appts but did better than expected. Worthington, Henry and worse of all Alan Ball widely lauded then proved dismal. It is good fun but let's not pre judge anyone who gets the job.

SS won’t want to get his next appointment wrong and don’t forget this is a new business venture for him. I think it will be somebody who comes with a good CV and been round the block a few times, and yes l know SG has a record at this level but has been potted in recent times on a number of occasions. Evatt is maybe one for the future but not now.

Maybe but commercially he is a good choice to attract fans.

Also the football he is implementing we may not get him if he proves himself somewhere else.

I hope the Ryan Lowe rumour is true. Him or Evatt, for me. I'd be happy with Wellens too, but we'd have fans with a grudge against him. You know the score.

Ryan Lowe could be an inspired choice. Young, hungry, attack minded, done great already at his two clubs so far.

At the moment I'm just glad to hear we haven't rushed in to appointing Hickinbottom....

I’ve heard Heck, Evo and Jones are serious contenders.

Paul Hurst is scheduled for an interview

Asked to speak to Lowe

Amongst 4 others on the shortlist I saw tonight Steve Evans 😯

Nathan Jones seems like a good option if we can get him. Always a gamble to some extent. Be easy to make a song for him though 😂

Better than heckinbottoms tangerine army.

I know nothing about Heckinbottom but surely he has a nickname we could chant to. Heckys Tangerige army is much better than the full name 😁

Dont know about Jones and Lowe but Evo and his knowledge and time here. His style of play and the ollie way and his stature here will boost crowds. Hes my favourite but I dont know about the others so hard to say.
