Right...realistic shortlist of managers

Reading the below article on Nathan Jones style he will tick a lot of boxes: attacking possession football, attacking wing backs, brings through youth and attracts talent.

reading that has similarities to what Ollie said when he took over, he watched a lot of Spanish football when he was out of work and said he’d have his next team playing like that, which obviously worked for us at the time

Lots of strong views about possible managers. History suggests it is very hard to know how any appt works out. Bowyer, McPhillips and of course Ollie were not popular appts but did better than expected. Worthington, Henry and worse of all Alan Ball widely lauded then proved dismal. It is good fun but let's not pre judge anyone who gets the job.
100% agree with that last comment. Any manager that comes through the door should not be pre judged. Look at Ollie, failed at Leicester but smashed it with us

Kurt you seem to have a weird obsession for being negative about everything I post.

Not talking rubbish at all, just passing on the information Iv been passed by someone that’s close to the top of the club. All with his blessing I might add.

Take it or leave it Kurt, there’s always the option to ignore me on here of you want.

it’s an exciting time for the club just trying to add slightly to it.

Nathan Jones is my choice. Was fantastic at Luton and would be a good fit here. Stoke was the wrong move for him and I am sure he will be wanting to prove himself again

I want some serious due diligence to be conducted over this appointment as I'm sure SS does as it will be him who makes the final decision.
One problem is availability as most potential candidates are already under contract at other clubs but I wouldn't want to appoint someone simply because they are currently available.
As posted yesterday I would be seriously looking at Ryan Lowe who ticks a lot of boxes for me.
His Wiki page is worth a visit for his managerial stats alone but he is also from the North West (Liverpool) and has been commended for his attack minded playing policy by both Pep and Klopp no less.
A bit tenuous I know but he has also managed to get far more out of Hardie in three weeks than SG did in six months albeit at L2 level.
However he will be under contract at Plymouth.

Got to say from some of the names mentioned, realistically Nathan Jones would be a great shout. He will have something to prove after what happened at Stoke for sure.
Julian Nagelmann seems to be doing something right at RB Leipzig. Perhaps he could be persuaded to drop a couple of divisions and come over to England. No?

The one thing we don't know in all of this is who has actually applied for the job. Even under the Oystons I remember Karl saying that he'd had 100 applicants when we had a vacancy (can't remember what era or what state the club was in at the time). There may well yet be a real curve ball candidate who will either set the place alight or kill our enthusiasm stone dead!
