Rogers confirmed

Why? It's the truth most likely. We need permanent quality players that give us some identity and not a revolving loan door. Hopefully it's just the start and more long term signings can also be added. Certainly not going to get carried away with this.
20 years ago I’d have agreed but there are loads of good young prem players not getting a look in at their clubs, remember some of our best players or should I say a good chunk of players that have made the biggest impact for us in the last 15 years have been loans

Bournemouth fans said he wasn't ready for this level of football in the Championship so why should I believe he will be great for us? Obviously I hope he is but it just seems a familiar story with these young loan players.

That's Bournemouth, a side who wouldn't have accepted anything less than promotion and threw a lot of money at it. Very different circumstances, and it's also a year on (remember there are folk who didn't rate Bowler on this board once upon a time).

The loan market is always going to be a gamble but with our budget we are going to have to utilise it for a while. Seems odd, when we're desperate for creative players, to take a negative stance when a young, multimillion pound Man City player arrives IMO!

I just want to see a permanent quality centre half and midfielder. Obviously hoping Bowler comes too.

Not knocking the signing, just explaining why I am reserving judgement. I don't think the Bournemouth situation is too dissimilar. If you had quality, you would shine either at Bournemouth or Blackpool on the whole.

I'll stick up for A_T_G here, even if he has turned into a right moaning sod recently. On paper this looks good, but we undoubtedly need some proven Championship experience that is ready to go straight into the team. Loans can be good, but we can't be a learning center for players at bigger clubs to get mistakes out of their system at our expense.

But this is positive and (hopefully) an improvement on Theo.

I’m sure you said on a previous thread that you only posted around matchdays!!! Yet here you are again posting multiple times the same depressive nonsense as usual. Please give it a rest it can’t be good for you.

This just occurred to me as well. A lot of his old players (and premier league clubs) seem to have more faith in MA than we do.....worth asking why.
He's happy to give other clubs' youth a chance to play as long as they'll listen to him and stick to his system. He's built up contacts in U23 football. These lads all have a personal point to prove to try to make it at their parent clubs and need a platform.

It's good for Appleton being able to find work as well as he can sell this to his suitors like Sadler as a more cost effective way to keep the overheads down if they're only paying a loan fee or wage contribution instead of a full contract.

Obviously he'll get a chance and will probably be around the level of Corbeanu but more of a team player.

Corbeanu was alright on his good days, but he's injured and less a team player.

So it's an upgrade having Rogers in our current situation. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do, he's young and developing and Man City don't keep duds.

We have to be realistic about who we can get given where we are in the league and our financial spending power.

Any 'championship ready winger', ready to go and who will improve any team will be easily snapped up by the big hitters.

The only reason we'll get Bowler will be because he can't physically play for anyone else, otherwise he wouldn't be coming here again.

Jan isn't a great month to be buying permanent as they charge more and also know we are desperate with cash in the bank. But we do need to bite thr bullet given the summer and do have funds.

So an upgrade on our current position with Rogers. Big upgrade with Bowler, strengthen in the middle and back, overall can lead to a big upgrade altogether.

Welcome Morgan, stay injury free & play your best football - with your club mate Lewis (Fiorini).
Thanks to Man City for entrusting the ongoing development of two highly valued players, to MA & BFC.
Morgan was attracted to join us by the presence of MA, so it's fair to assume MA isn't going anywhere.
Let's hope we're about to loan Josh, a tough midfielder and a centre half - then we will pull clear of the bottom 3.
We need to loan players out, and hopefully cancel the contracts of the 'sick notes'.

At the time, that was correct. I feel like my knowledge of football should be more frequently shared hence why posting now.

You might think it's negative, I just think it's being realistic. Please tell me anything I have said that is wrong? If you want to believe he is going to be a superstar and help us survive, then that is up to you and I admire the positivity. I just can't think like that I am afraid.

I certainly prefer to be optimistic and positive and quite often proved wrong then be of the same depressive mindset of yourself.

Well don't come crying to me when you are left disappointed and that is what is going to happen unless we strengthen in key areas such as centre midfield. We have lost a couple so I am ok with Rogers coming in but no more kids/loans please; it's not what we need.

“Morgan is a player I know very well from the time I worked with him at Lincoln. The quality that he’s got will be there for everybody to see. He’s got a physical presence, he scores goals and he gets assists. The fact he knows how I want to play and how I do things is a bonus.”

At least that's one player in the squad who does.

You really are a right ray of sunshine aren’t you !

Welcome aboard! Sounds like a good one. This also tells me that Appleton is in charge for now. What we need next ideally is a permanent signing, a reliable centre mid who can make it through 90 minutes intact and allow others to play their game.
