Marcus Smith should be on by now
In football terms I suppose you could ask the same question "why have Portugal, Croatia or Holland got such a good team versus their population?" I don't suppose they can compete in as many sports at the very highest level as a more populous country? Why is it we have 60m people and Ireland have 6m, yet Ireland are better than us ?
yep, watched that and whilst not knowing much about all the rules that does seem to be very poor refereeing. All that said, there is that much happening all around that it's impossible to see everything. Wonder if the authorities have seen it and should the ref be stood down? Was just browsing YouTube and came across this analysis of the Fiji Wales games.
Anyone with knowledge of the game know if this is as poor as it looks.
My mate who's into his rugby said that some of the offisides where it was just a hand are easily missed but 6 or 7 players clearly offside, no arms tackles, sliding tackles feet 1st are totally unacceptable.Incredible, very poor, the laws are changing so much it’s difficult to keep up, but those offsides were obvious
It's been the 6 nations since 2001 but yes the big competitions are enjoyable.I know very little about Rugby Union but always enjoy the 5 Nations and Lions tours.
France v New Zealand to kick off the World cup.
Needs a thread on the sport forum.
Perhaps not for longThe worst England team in history and we are still the last home nations team standing.
Possibly not, I certainly don't expect to see England in the final. A semi final against France or South Africa would actually represent a decent tournament given the low expectations this time around. I still find it funny Wales and Ireland bottled it again though.Perhaps not for long
England couldn't have picked an easier route to the semi's. I wouldn't call getting to the semi's (if they get there) that much of an achievement.Possibly not, I certainly don't expect to see England in the final. Too good for Wales.England couldn't have picked an easier route to the semi's. I wouldn't call getting to the semi's (if they get there) that much of an achievement.
Managed to avoid all of the heavyweights. Argentina aren't that good.
We earned an easier group by reaching the final 4yrs ago. Whether that is too early to do the seedings is another argument. I think most expected us to be lining up against Australia or Wales today, the fact Fiji got through in 2nd is hardly our fault either.England couldn't have picked an easier route to the semi's. Agree re Steward but no way Smith over Farrell in a game like this. Control and cool head needed at “10” as well as his superior place kickingDon’t understand Freddie Steward being left out completely, I’d have had him in at full back and Marcus Smith for Farrell.
