I don't recall there being a thread about Germany. In fact there wasn't one.

If there was I'd have said exactly the same. It's not a criticism of the players who are merely doing their jobs.

Kane's quite clearly an excellent player. But world class? Maybe he would be if he turned up in the really big games. Champions League Final, World Cup Semi Final, Euros Final all spring to mind. I'm not putting him down as some obviously are. But he has to produce in these big games.
 
I can see San Marino getting back in this game second half, if it wasn’t for numerous first class saves from our keeper, and 6 lucky goals by us, things could be so er, different. Ffs Southgate get some subs on! Tsk.

He can get a bit snatchy in the big games.

Edit- Although he did bury one against the Germans and it didn't get much bigger than that.

No it's not. It's expected which makes a mockery of it being classed as a competitive game.

And for what it's worth I've been to San Marino and seen us play. Saying we're world beaters on this performance just leads to ultimate disappointment.

Totally agree with what Ian Wright said in the half time interval.

Every team has the right to be here but teams like San Marino surely must have to pre-qualify to get to this stage.

I think 99% of Englands pub trams could beat San Marino and that can’t be right.

No there isn't. Club before country doesn't mean you hate England and saying Kane has been out of form doesn't mean he should never play again.

I'd suggest neither were you if you didn't hear the reference to unstoppable. I have nothing at all against Harry Kane who seems a decent bloke and is a very good player. I just hope he'll be able to show form when it really matters.

One goal for his club when we're over a third through the season. Is he in a rich vein of form, and did you watch the Euros? You cant say he played well.

His club are a bit of a shambles though aren't they? It doesn't just stop with Harry? Pretty clear he's one of our best strikers of all time. If he was wearing Tangerine, you'd support him.
 
What a joke the decision was never a foul and a yellow.

These refs have to remember when they see something in slow motion its not the same, it's got to be worth a foul, not just stuck let up near player.

I said that might happen. A game like this the ref can't even remember who he's already booked, and if he can he's thinking of his assessor score so common sense takes a complete back seat.
This has to go double figures now.

He doesn’t choose the opposition and he’s been a great striker, but at the same time the recent stats are pretty meaningless. I think that’s 16 in 16 games, of which 11 of the goals have been against San Marino, Albania and Andorra.
