"In our 2020/21 play-off season, he scored 17 times without ever really nailing down a first-team place. Is he a winger? Probably not quick enough. Is he a striker? Maybe not big enough. Is he a ten? Perhaps. Whatever his best position and I still don’t think we know it yet, he is an effective player no matter where he starts. Last season he netted 15 goals, despite being out of the team for a couple of months injured. He just has a knack for getting into the right positions to score.
"I’ll be honest, whilst I’d miss Scully, I do think he struggled at times last season. He was electric going into autumn, but tailed off perhaps through injury. Every player has his price, and if Blackpool cough up £750,000 or so, then it would feel like a good, solid deal and give us scope for reinvesting in maybe two players. After all, that is what a team like us has to do right now, whether you like it or not.
