Signing…

Forget the link to PNE, playing football is his career and he will know that to develop he will have to earn his place in the team. He will learn a lot training and playing alongside Keogh.

He hasn't failed IMO. He's 19 and learning. Played first team games for Liverpool. Swansea have a specific play style too, which was utter shite when I watched them at their place. It isn't for everyone.
He's 21.

Dont know what to expect from him based on what we know.

Big Marv - 6.33ft
Big Rhys - 6.397ft

If we can't score a corner, then I don't know what will.

As a direct season long swap for Casey its clearly an improvement.

I think Martin's Swansea are a basket-case team and it doesn't bother me not playing well there. We've seen him on the telly in the CL and, based on that, he should be fine.

Just chatting with a scouse St holder

Rhys is a ball playing CB not a physical one. Best option is deployed alongside a gripper and let him carry the ball out of defence.

Sounds perfect alongside either Marv or Uncle Rich

We are not short of physicality in the squad in CB or DM. Williams adds a different option and still v young

I think Martins Swansea will finish higher than us

Here’s a novel concept, why don’t we judge him playing for us rather than listening to what Swansea fans say and other gossip forums were a right bunch of moaners at least give the guy a chance FFS!
Since when have the doomsayers on this board ever thought of doing that? 🤣

Couldn't agree more both times I saw Swansea they bored me to death and wouldn't have scored at BR if they game had gone on to midnight.

If MA considers him a good signing - then for me he is a good signing.
My mates a big Liverpool supporter and he rates him as a developing player. His height will be valuable at set pieces.
I hope Rhys isn't reading the less than glowing welcome to Bloomfield Road comments on this thread, but if he is: Good luck Rhys and we expect exceptional performances against the Nobbers 🧡

Swansea started badly last season but improved and finished a place above us.

Is he clearly better than Casey? I've no idea. How do we know?

Pleased to hear he's a ball playing CB (with CL experience which must help)
As much as I think Marv is a great player, ball playing didn't look the best element of his game in my opinion.
I couldn't get why the DM players passed the ball sideways and backwards, with the ball often ending up with Marv to play a long ball which rarely worked. Great signing by the sounds of it, welcome to Bloomfield Road Rhys

We've seen Casey play and we've seen Williams play on the telly against a different level of opposition. Usual rules of judging footballers apply. One's clearly better than the other imo.

A shrewd signing. Takes the pressure of King K having to play 42 games.
And having KK showing him and big M the tricks cannot but improve the 2 of them .
