Or is Maxi going full time into coaching?
Why ? Is Grimmy off ??

Were after Hulls keeper apparentlyCan’t see Grimmy going.
Can only be better money somewhere else?

It’s an odd one for me because as things stand we have Grimmy, Maxi and Moore as first team keepers. Grimmy and Maxi will, we all presumed, fight it out to be no1. So, if we get Ingram where does he fit in? You would assume he is a replacement for Grimmy or Maxi either because:-Matt Ingram’s a bit nomadic. In my opinion Grimshaw’s the best keeper we’ve had in years so I’d hope Ingram would only be a backup.
Grimmy won us alot of points this season, hope hes not being sold. One of the best GK in the ChampionshipCan only be better money somewhere else?
Bit like Turton this time last year.
You have to wonder how much truth is in this as Hull took up the 12 month option on his contract, are negotiating a long term contract with him and clearly want him to stay. They rate him really highly so it’s all a bit odd but Nicko is normally well informed and on the ball so he must have heard something?Or is Maxi going full time into coaching?
That’s why I said on the transfer rumours thread it’s probably Maxwell that’s leaving.Grimmy won us alot of points this season, hope hes not being sold. One of the best GK in the Championship
I don’t think we should read to much into this, look at the reports in Hull and can’t see him leaving to be honest as they are negotiating a new long term contract with him. Time will tell thoughThat’s why I said on the transfer rumours thread it’s probably Maxwell that’s leaving.
Aye my thoughts exactly, he was outstanding and won us more points than I can remember, basically has 15 years of his career left barring major injury. Worth money that to someone, with our MO of turning a profit on players like Grimmy it’s sad but looks like he might be on his way.I think you're right. Grimshaw settled in immediately and didn't have a bad game, as I remember. At his age as a keeper he is a great prospect and clubs will look to get him for a few million rather than possibly tens of millions in a couple of years. He's well worth a punt for clubs awash with Prem money.
Had offers for double what we offered him from BHA and Palace 12 months ago to be their third choice keeper knew he’d never play, more chance of backing up in the Championship.I think he is fab but it was but for maxis injury he got his opportunity
Would be Grim to lose him but he's already a year into a 2 plus 1 contract and I'm sure we will choose to Maxi-mise our returns on him as I suspect we can use the money to Moore effect at the sharp end of the team.Aye my thoughts exactly, he was outstanding and won us more points than I can remember, basically has 15 years of his career left barring major injury. So are Luton and the Nobbers. Were after Hulls keeper apparently
I guess it add grist to the selling of Grimshaw mill. See above. So are Luton and the Nobbers.
Why do we need him?
Why we he come to us, knowing he'll be backup for Grimmy & Max?
Which of our three keepers won't be here next season?
Not at all an exciting link to an incoming!
Brilliant use of goalkeeping puns. .Would be Grim to lose him but he's already a year into a 2 plus 1 contract and I'm sure we will choose to Maxi-mise our returns on him as I suspect we can use the money to Moore effect at the sharp end of the team.
Prior to injury Maxwell was doing a good job. It's harder to find attacking players without splashing some cash I think.
Thanks Voy.I guess it add grist to the selling of Grimshaw mill. See above.
Didn't Grimmy get an assist for Keshie's goal at Sheffield United?Brilliant use of goalkeeping puns. .
To be honest the more I think about it it really would be Grim to loose him as he formed a key part of our spine during our most successful spell of the season.
Maxi looked a shadow of himself after that injury, maybe down to rushing himself back as he knew he was rapidly becoming second fiddle.
Like a few have said on this thread though, it’s silly season for rumours and links, so who knows. I do like this time of year though.
Sorry to go on, but one thing I have never ever got is, when goalkeepers have their stats on virtually everything it goes Appearances Goals Assists. WTF. It’s always going to be zero for the later two. Why has no one figured out to put clean sheets and saves instead.
Minor rant over.
Yes you’re right.Didn't Grimmy get an assist for Keshie's goal at Sheffield United?
New training ground and east stand suggests a lot of ambition. Player trading is a necessary part of the process.Nobbers currently have no keepers surely they need him more
Total lack of ambition if grimmy goes this summer
Quite correct, but we have to be careful not to trade ourselves out of the Championship.New training ground and east stand suggests a lot of ambition. Player trading is a necessary part of the process.
Absolutely but I think we can trust the people in charge, they seem to know what they are doing. Don't forget they identified Grimmy and persuaded him to come here on lower wages, apparently, and I'm sure there was an understanding that it was to give him a leg up and it would benefit us for the short term and enable us to make a profit.Quite correct, but we have to be careful not to trade ourselves out of the Championship.
That was the model as described by SS and slow and steady progress will, I’m sure be made. As long as the recruitment team keep finding the raw material it will work, this will probably be our modus operandi every summer from now on. Just as long as we don’t get to attached to our better players and accept the fact we will nurture them, enjoy them for a season or two then say goodbye.Absolutely but I think we can trust the people in charge, they seem to know what they are doing. Agree if we are seen to give a helping hand to our saleable stars rather than just trying to maximise a cash windfall, we will be a very attractive club to sign for. Trust the process and try not to dwell on individualsAbsolutely but I think we can trust the people in charge, they seem to know what they are doing. And there's a fair chance it will happen if Maxwell's our no1 next season. We got got battered by teams already relegated last season.Quite correct, but we have to be careful not to trade ourselves out of the Championship.
Grimmy has been excellent and if nothing changes he would certainly but my first choice next seasonAnd there's a fair chance it will happen if Maxwell's our no1 next season. We got got battered by teams already relegated last season.
Except that Turton was out of contract and Dan is not!Can only be better money somewhere else?
Bit like Turton this time last year.
Indeed he was but he was offered a new contract but turned it down in favour of Udders.Except that Turton was out of contract and Dan is not!
Nathan Baxter - Chelski on loan to Hull, very good ?Were after Hulls keeper apparently
Matt Ingram.. someone already started a seperate thread on thisNathan Baxter - Chelski on loan to Hull, very good ?
I'm sure he will if he's still here. He's already shown he's capable and should be guaranteed no1. We should be trying to keep hold of the likes of him if we want to compete at this level or push on in the future.Grimmy has been excellent and if nothing changes he would certainly but my first choice next season
BUT this was his first half season, he needs to consolidate what he has achieved. If he does he might be able to achieve better than what is potentially available to him next season.
We’re very short in the middle of the park, I’d hope we get another two, maybe three centre midfielders in, one being BrannaganThere will be more continuity than we've had in a very long time. We have loads of players under contract. We will make decisions based on what is best for us, given each player's contract situation.
Maxwell did a similar standard job as Grimshaw, prior to his injury, needs games and confidence and full strength back in his thigh. If we make a good profit on Grimmie then everybody wins. We need attacking players and full backs and a creative midfielder. Grimmy and Bowler may go in order to fund them. Or they may not. Depends on offers and discussions and players wishes etc.
As it stands, if Grim and Bowl leave we can still put a pretty decent side out, and add to that with the money. I think most of these will be better next season, having adapted to the division last season.
Max, Moore, Gabriel, Marv, Keogh, Thorniley, Hubby, Stewart, Connolly, Dougall, Carey (U21), Virtue, Anderson, Madine, Lavery, CJ.
Dale, Beesley, Casey all works in progress. Squad players who will develop.
That's 18 for the 25. Casey possibly out on loan?
James, Garbutt, Yates are players I'm not sure what the future holds. Can see us trying to move them on to make more space for new arrivals. Depending on what's available incoming wise. Can we upgrade?
So maybe we could see 7/8 new players. Gk, RB, LB, CB, AM, ST, Winger.
Yeah couple hopefully. We've staked a lot on Stewart and Virtue. I think I'd trade them both if I could. Just the risk factor. If they don't play many games other players are heavily depended upon. Dougall and Connolly dug us out last season. We’re very short in the middle of the park, I’d hope we get another two, maybe three centre midfielders in, one being Brannagan
You forgot Tharme. There will be more continuity than we've had in a very long time. We have loads of players under contract. We will make decisions based on what is best for us, given each player's contract situation.

Er. Hasn't made the club website squad yet! Out on loan! You forgot Tharme.
Agreed, personally don’t think Virtue is good enough to play an important role in the championship and Stewart is in physio room more than on the pitch.Yeah couple hopefully. We've staked a lot on Stewart and Virtue. I think I'd trade them both if I could. Just the risk factor. If they don't play many games other players are heavily depended upon. Tharme's gonna be 23 a few weeks into the season, given that Thorneily started with us at that age, Casey has played and scored at 21, I've had half a thought he needs to start playing this season with us to see what he's got.Er. Hasn't made the club website squad yet! Out on loan!
Virtue might be good enough, I don't know, but it's a big fitness gamble, it would seem. Sterling won't be back, I'd be very surprised anyway. I got criticised earlier in the season for saying he's better than Gabriel, very few seemed to rate Sterling then, but I said I'd snap Chelsea's hand off if they suggested a swap. They won't! Good lad though Gabriel, and still improving. Good potential and attitude and energy.Agreed, personally don’t think Virtue is good enough to play an important role in the championship and Stewart is in physio room more than on the pitch.
IMO we need
GK if we lose Grimshaw
RB - Sterling?
LB - actually think Sterling looked solid there
CM x 2/3
2 x wingers to replace Bowler and improve on CJ
Striker if we let Yates leave.
Take no notice of that squad list, sooooo last year. Robson is on there as is Ward, neither of whom will be on the updated list.Er. Hasn't made the club website squad yet! Out on loan!

I thought Steve Banks was a great deal better than steady.Grimshaw is the best keeper we've had since loanee Joe Hart and prior to that although Steve Banks was steady Budgie was only as good as Grimmy now but this boy could go to the top. Saves, speed, agility and distribution in spades.
He will save us 15 pts a season
I did remove those two.Take no notice of that squad list, sooooo last year. Robson is on there as is Ward, neither of whom will be on the updated list.
In that case we need to resign Charlie , just for those 2 gamesBale to……………………………………Cardiff
Well according to Daily Mail sports reporter in todays paper.
Set for a big home coming to the place of his birth to see out his career.
