Summer Transfer Rumours trois - Will Appy (re)sign anyone?

Anyway I see Millwall , who seem to have recruited well, have just signed a striker from Union Berlin. Feels we are fishing in too small a pool.
 
It’s much easier for clubs like Millwall to bring in foreigners. For one the prospect of living and working in and around London is probably a damn site more appealing to any young foreign millionaire than even a city like Manchester or Liverpool. The transport links to the continent of course make the move to a London club that bit easier than a club outside of the capital. Also I imagine its easier to fit in, and probably more importantly to a footballer go under the radar, when living in a major city. Not to mention they’ll find more home comforts from back home and likely a better and easier transition for both themselves and their family.

I’ve always felt a London club has that much greater a pull when trying to sign players. It’s a shame but understandable.

So there aren’t any favours done by politicians in any country except this one. Is that what you’re saying? If not then your point is invalid, if yes then it’s time you woke up.

Not a lot that appeals when it comes to Millwall and the low life scum that surface whenever they play a team with a similar legacy of hooligans e.g Leeds, Chelsea, West Ham. Also, the actual cost of living in London is horrendous. This is not a problem if you're at Chelsea, Spurs or Arsenal earning >100K a week but I don't think Millwall will be offering that kind of money.
 
Todd Kane (Coventry City) was mentioned on here a few weeks back as a potential right back. Now out for a while recovering from knee surgery.

The point is that the players that we were able to get cheaply from the EU (Angel, Gomes, Ludo, etc.) did not have that type of pedigree, but were still able to sign them because of the immigration regulations.

Those regulations are now more strict so we are not able to sign that type of player.

This doesn't explain all of our transfer woes, but it is something to keep in mind, because just about every player we've been in for has been UK based, and since many clubs like ourselves are not able to go to the EU, those UK based players have very inflated prices.

He hardly played any games for his club and has 6 caps for USA. I thought there was some rule that said they would have had to have played a certain percentage of the team's last so many games?

I don't know how old you are, but in the late 70's, perhaps the early 80's we were in for a player from Nice/Monaco, the name escapes....it wasn't Robert Prizt who I would have loved to sign. I can picture his face and hair....arrrrgggghhhh.

Anyway he chose Luton over us. Face value the flights to the South of France a bit easier from there.
 
We have a forward that a a Championship side, who just missed out on the playoffs ( Millwall ) think is worth a bid. Just a thought, maybe we could try and in co-operate him into a system that suits.
Wonder if Swansea think we'll be playing 433 tomorrow and have madea few plans.

They might think we will have 3 in midfield with two young attacking midfielders and one rather vulnerable holding midfielder. Just a hunch. Not sure why they'd think that.
 
Blackpool needs to lose its reputation as a deprived area full of obese DSS benefit scroungers, druggies, and dossers.
Living in exile it's sad to see the reports that constantly paint the place in a bad light.
Never a mention of the nicer areas in the town and around the Fylde coast.
Then we might become a more desirable club destination for players.
Places like Luton, Birmingham et al - are a million times worse than Blackpool.

He’s played 6 games in the last 18 months for the USA which is likely enough. He’s played a decent amount of games in the Bundesliga and Spanish Leagues, possesses EU nationality and being just 21 I’m pretty sure that is also taken into account in terms of no. / % of games played as a younger player isn’t expected to have developed immediately

I've posted the detailed rules in a couple of posts already, in that case coming from a LaLiga club is more or less an automatic pass.

Not sure about Bishop but heard rumours the club have struggled to get insurance policies in place for money transfers. In Branaghan’s case, the eye problem he had & which may reoccur, rendered the transfer fee uninsurable (or not worth the extra +£ for a very sky high premium).
 
Not sure why everyone is so down on Kirk. He never really had a run of games but whenever he played he chased every cause, worked his bollocks off, whipped in some excellent crosses (and had a decent set piece on him) and he’s a proven attacking player with plenty of experience despite being just 24. I quite like him and would be happy to have him back. My only real concern is a lack of pace. When he played last season he wasn’t the main man and expected to drive at defences in the same way Bowler was - he was expected to get balls in the box - which he did and did well.

Edit * 9 matches and 3 assists is a great return.

He didn’t chase every ball, didn’t work his socks off and didn’t get a run of games because he wasn’t good enough. Just the same as his former teammate Dale.
 
I thought Kirk was bang average and if we signed him it would go against the club which is the last thing they need.

I thought it was interesting in the Mansford'Sadler interview recently when Mansford said Corbeneau was a player the club were already interested in and on Quitchley's radar. I have seen I'm play and I'm not convinced we will see him much and he will go back in January.

We need to get away from the players that Quitchley was after and the recruitment team and start getting some players in that Appleton wants.

It’s a game of opinions tbh but I’m not sure you have a clue tbh because I’m basing it on what I saw.

9 games, 3 assists - that’s a decent return.
