Summer Transfer Rumours trois - Will Appy (re)sign anyone?

For CM, don’t laugh it off however, would John Lundstram at Rangers fit the bill. He joined them last summer on a free so wouldn’t command a great fee. Previously worked under Appleton at Oxford. Has played for us previously on loan. And certainly get the impression he would rather be down this neck of the woods.

I what way does the date he joined or the amount he cost have any effect on the fee that Rangers might want?

Bowler joined us last summer on a free, should we be giving him away too?

Yes, he has and Appleton said post match he is similar to Bowler and is looking forward to seeing them play together for us. The best pressie we could get is t0 keep Bowler, it would be massive.

Some people suggesting it’s Dele Bushiru - left out of the Sheff Wed team yesterday (injured maybe not sure) and Darren Moore very unhappy his better players are being targeted/unsettled. Nixon reporting one player may possibly leave. Time will tell

If Watford come in for him because they lose Sarr or Pedro than that might actually be the best move for him and us, because he'd be at a club with recent Premier League pedigree and we could demand a much higher fee than 4m since they're desperate and in our division.

I'd think we could easily get 6m from Watford if they really wanted him.

The only player we've been concretely linked with is that kid from Celtic, but it sounded like he would be coming in for the Development squad so I don't think he would be who MA is referring to.

I'm fairly sure he'd be part of the first team squad, and this idea of him being a development squad player is something being misunderstood or being taken out of context.

The club is not going to spend serious cash on a player for the DS.

So I'd suggest someone a bit more like Casey or Carey, part of the first team squad, possibly in the match-day squad depending upon the availability of others and may get some substitute appearances, but not a regular starter, and here with a view to becoming part of the first XI in the next couple of years.

“I think he's definitely more for the future and the development group and that's the reason why we have that, to give players an opportunity to get competitive football at a decent enough level and then they can threaten and get closer to the first team group and we'll do that over time.

“Certainly initially he'll come in to work with that group."

So why doesn't he stay in Glasgow and be part of Celtic's development squad then? Perhaps they don't rate him?
He's 20, not 17 ... old enough surely.

He’s one of the most consistent performers and therefore one of the first names on the team sheet at a Champions League club……..I’d lower your expectations if I were you

I think we probably have enough now, at least when everyone is fit. It looks like Josh’s replacement is already here.

Another right back, possibly a centre back if Rhys Williams has a long term injury, a different kind of central midfielder etc would all be nice. You can always do something to strengthen the squad, but if it is too difficult in the time available it is probably better to do nothing.

I doubt it, Weve had the whole window to sign players and failed to land our targets and you really think were going to get 3 in in the last couple of days that are left ?, weve signed 1 permanent (who does look like a great signing to be fair), i can see us signing a free agent or 2 after the deadline

A lot of business is done in the last few days of the window, I suppose it's 'cos a deadline focusses minds and it's a long time 'till January.
